The NBA is really onto something with the playin tournament too. A lot of players and some owners are on record as hating it, but they hate it because it actually makes a lot more regular-season games meaningful. We have about 7-8 games left for most teams and there are roughly 20-21 teams that still have a shot at making the playoffs. The difference between the 6th and 7th seed is almost as big as between any two seeds since you don't have to go into the playin tournament and get the week off so those teams are still playing hard. Look at tonight, instead of the Bucks playing game against a Wizards team tonight that in past years would be just playing out the string, the Wizards are now in the playin games. If you are the #1 seed like the Sixers do you really want to see Beal and Westbrook in round 1?
