Yeah Fightphoe93, adding Grandal was great, and Moose, but we needed a real Ace starter added to our roster, and that has yet to happen. The experiment worked with Wood, but Peralta and Burnes had a rough first half. Add Nelson struggling to find his way, along with the loss of Corey Knebel, and now both starting and relief pitching are a dire need if we are to advance. We've had others struggle at the plate as well, compounding our troubles.
However, I believe Atanasio knows this is his shot, and Stearns is looking to see it through with his best work. Should be fun to see who we add for pitching help, and I do think our bats will return. Gio's return should be some big help too, as will a good showing by Dubon. That will get interesting if he shows well at SS when Arcia is healthy enough to return.
I'm not giving up on this season. You're right, we've been fortunate the rest of our division has sucked balls through all of this...
Really want them to get Scherzer, as he's under team control till 2021. That could help us make multiple runs at this. If Atanasio pops for him at $30M, that would be amazing for the Brewers and Milwaukee.
