I'm trying to figure out why a guy that was completely asleep at the switch is suddenly the most qualified guy to be making those kinds of decisions.

Many here bitched about McCarthy not taking action on his staff soon enough, so it's not like a HC having full control is a guarantee he's going to get it right. To me the issue isn't Murphy having the ability to meddle, it's HOW MUCH is he going to meddle. Is he going to be Jerry Jones or more like Art/Dan Rooney? This structure was a direct result of a lack of accountability under the previous structure, no one was checking their subordinates it seems from President to HC. Hopefully the Board is keeping a closer eye on Murphy as well.
