If I had a wish as a Packers fan one would be that I could have seen Lombardi coach the Packers.  I was born in the middle of those glory years so I don't have any memories of Coach Lombardi until I vaguely remember when he died.

Hey at least you were alive for the Lombardi dynasty.  I was born the year Lombardi coached the Redskins so I missed his Packer coaching years completely.  That said, I feel your pain.  I think all of us who were born around that time and became Packers' fans did a lot of suffering before 1992 and never got to experience the great stuff of the 60s.

I hate to admit this but growing up in NE Wisconsin in the 70's and 80's I used to get sick and tired of hearing about the glory years.  All I wanted was to see the Packers be good again and it took until 1992 like you said.  Suffering is a great word for the post Lombardi years until the Packers were truly back.   And as kids we were all Packers fans but we rooted for other teams in the NFL.

I can still remember as a very little kid being upset when my Mom bought me a Packers stocking hat.  "Mom but i dont want to wear that!"
