Hey at least you were alive for the Lombardi dynasty. I was born the year Lombardi coached the Redskins so I missed his Packer coaching years completely. That said, I feel your pain. I think all of us who were born around that time and became Packers' fans did a lot of suffering before 1992 and never got to experience the great stuff of the 60s.
I hate to admit this but growing up in NE Wisconsin in the 70's and 80's I used to get sick and tired of hearing about the glory years. All I wanted was to see the Packers be good again and it took until 1992 like you said. Suffering is a great word for the post Lombardi years until the Packers were truly back. And as kids we were all Packers fans but we rooted for other teams in the NFL.
I can still remember as a very little kid being upset when my Mom bought me a Packers stocking hat. "Mom but i dont want to wear that!"
