PFF 2020 NFL Mock Draft: Tua Tagovailoa lands in Green Bay

Tua is a hard player to figure out. The results are there, but his supporting cast has been so great that it's hard to figure out who was making who better. I think he's a good QB in the mold of Russell Wilson and sitting behind Rodgers for the next 3 years would probably help polish is game as a passer. Tough call, I would say no just because I don't think he's actually an insane value here compared to 2005 with Rodgers. I don't think he's as good of a QB prospect as Mahomes and Watson were in '17, who went 10 and 12, and I don't think he's as good of a prospect as Lamar Jackson who shockingly went 32nd in '18. I think he's right behind them and 27 might be about right in terms of value, but I think there will be better values available later. If he's available in Round 2 then we're definitely on to something.

Availability is a trait you have to scout. He's started 24 games in college and has had to have high ankle surgeries twice and fractured his hip. This is while being protected by an offensive line that dominates most teams they play against and being surrounded by skill position players that are high NFL draft picks.

I'd be worried about his durability once he gets to the NFL. When his OL isn't light years ahead of the pass rushers on the opposing defense, he's likely to take even more hits.

If he doesn't get flagged by teams' medical staffs, he'll probably be long gone by the time the Packers pick. He's a great prospect, but I'd be scared he's going to spend a lot of time in the training room once he has to play regularly.
