North Dakota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa and Montana have the highest percentage of German descent in their population, in the order listed.

Of these 7 states, 6 of them have cities on that top 20 list. I don't think it's a coincidence, Germans love their beer.

**Edit** Forgot to mention that from the top 20 list, 18 cities are in those 6 states.
