Shows how inexperienced he was. You don't wait to see who has possession of the ball when they're both on the ground like he says he did, you see who has it in the air, that both hands are on the ball at all times, and that possession is maintained all the way to the ground. When Tate's hand clearly flies off before they hit the ground it's an interception from that instant on. How the replay guy botched it as well is a total mystery.
