Wow. If his head is no longer in the game, I can’t blame him for retiring. So much of your success in this sport is tied to all the mental work and preparation.  Not unlike BJ Raji, who also just lost the desire to grind like he once did.

He may not only have lost the willingness to grind mentally but the willingness to put your body on the line day in and day out. Luck has not been able to stay healthy for whatever reason. Luck has a degree in architectural design from Stanford -- I'm sure if he wants to go that route, some firm will hire him. If he wants to coach, I'm sure someone will find room for him on their staff. And if he wants to go into the booth, goodbye Booger McFarland or goodbye Collingsworth!

According to a tweet from Zak Keefer, this is the bad luck Luck has dealt with the past six years:

Physical toll on Andrew Luck through 6 NFL seasons:
» Torn cartilage in 2 ribs
» partially torn abdomen
» a lacerated kidney that left him peeing blood
» at least 1 concussion
» a torn labrum in his throwing shoulder
» and this mysterious calf/ankle issue that led to this [high ankle sprain]

Yeah, he's taking the smart route...

I almost hate to say it, but....
This is what happens when your QB gets the piss beat out of him year after year because the team never put an OL on the field capable of protecting him.

I sure don't want ARod following a similar path.

Indy fans booing him as he left the field last night because word had leaked out. Classless. Almost makes me embarrassed to be a sports fan.

Yup, just despicable “fan” behavior........embarrassed indeed.

Indy fans are horseshit. They're a tiny step up from Bronco fans.

If Rodgers retired today, I would tip my cap to him.

Most shocking retirement since Barry Sanders.

That sounds like just one season for Favre.

If you would have told me Luck would retire before RG3 I would have laughed at you.

Hell, if you would have told me Luck would retire before Brady I would have asked if you stopped taking your meds.

That's what happened to Rodgers for the past 2 years minimum.  People worry about his health when his ****ing Oline was getting him killed.  That's why thinking guys like Alex Light, etc. are somehow acceptable is bullshit.  I'm glad Gartergrundies made the moves he has so far when it comes to Oline.  I think it'll also make life easier on Buluga as well without a complete stiff playing next to him.  Buluga is still a top notch RT when he's not being run into the ground like Rodgers.

Yeah, but Luck is retiring with his brain probably more intact than Favre's and Luck walks off with $97 million at 29. Heck, I'd probably retire, too. Why make all that money and trash your body only to not know what your name is...

Kizer and a draft pick for Quentin Nelson! Done!

luv that trade MrTundra ,  wouldn't that be a coup d'etat.                                 just to put a little ice creme on that peach cobbler,   I'd throw in Suzane Summers, Briele Summers, and Elke Summers.
