I think one of the mayors down there told people if they didn't evacuate to write their SS#'s on their arms so they can. be identified later.   I think the. mayor got some flack from that comment.  But I think he was trying to let people know to get the heck out of there so we don't put more First-Responders in peril trying to save/find those that didn't heed the warning.

Very good friends from here in Austin retired to Rockport a few years ago. They found a drone video on-line and it looks like their house is gone. They have insurance, they will rebuild, but so much lost.

Nephew, wife, and their 2 little girls live in HOU. They moved to a friends home that is in a higher area. They are safe and dry, but he is not sure about their house. They are 2 blocks from a park with a water way that connects to Buffalo Bayou. When they evacuated their home he had recorded +10" of rain there.

Not his home/pool.

Some pics from my nephew via his friends drone. This is very near where the nephew lives. But, he said their place is still dry. He has a canoe and paddled over there this morning.

A before/after. That water way is the Buffalo Bayou which has been mentioned a lot on Weather Channel etc...

It is really sad what is going on in Texas.  I am calling fake on the alligator picture. It is one of those lawn ornament alligators.  I live here in Florida, and I think I know what a real alligator looks like.

I've got some family that live in the Northern 'burbs of Houston, not too far from G Bush Airport. They have prepared and now just wait....
Everyone stay safe!

I live 50 miles north of the airport, as of this morning the airport is still completely shut down. As for the greater Houston area, theres no way in and no way out. All major hiways are still under water. the city is complety shut down. As for us at our house we have gotten abt 39" of rain since fri nite. We are very wet but not flooding. The one thing I love about the city of Houston, is when there is a call for help, the great people of this city stepped up. Even had the Cajun navy come in to help. The city of Houston will overcome this!!!!!

Sister in Corpus Christi who rode it out and, thankfully, made it so far with only loss of shingles, all trees, and some other damage. Said she'll never do that again as it was horrifying. I thought she was stupid to stay in the first place!

I live abt 200 hundred miles from the coast, and since we move to Texas, I lived though 3 of them. Alicia, Rita, Ike. And even up here, it can get very dicey.

Milania Trump on her way to Texas.

Because that's what I'd wear to a flooded disaster area where people are losing homes, livelihoods, lives. You bet. Show them there's hope. Cake and all that. Or maybe she could use the heels as nails to hold a boat together.

"What a crowd. What a turnout. ...It's going really well."    All he forgot to add was "Brownie."

I think the Anti-Fa Domestic Terrorists stole them, DH13.

BTW...CJ.....remember that Melania needs those shoes so she can  protect herself against those same anti-Christian domestic terrorists that beat up on the prayer group this past weekend.

There.  whew.  Did we cover all the possibilities now.

Sad that all the previous snarkiness has to be included in the Harvey thread.
