You guys are lucky. This is a special Sick Old man Losing His job edition, so it should be wildly irrational. To wit:

1. James Starks. Enough is enough. If you can't get on the field, hit the road, Jack! On the other hand, thank God for Barclay.

2. Jeff Saturday. Maybe you could still play on Saturdays, but not on Sundays!
On the other hand, Thank God for DuJuan Harris and Ryan Grant. May be premature, but they sure added a spark in the last game.

3. OLB's from Hell. Please let's dump Zombo, Brad Jones, Lattimore, etc. and find a WWF guys who could probably do a better job. On the other hand, thank God for some of our young db's like Hayward, Davon House, MD Jennings, and the experience and growth they're showing.

4. Quarless. Tired of hearing about potential while he's never on the field (see James Starks). For that matter, remember when our stable of TE's was supposed to be the envy of every other team? Now Finley can't catch a cold, Williams has been very inconsistent, and no one is really standing out. They only guy I like is Crabtree, and I dont' see him on the field often. On the other hand, I think one of the unsung heroes of this time is Tim Masthay. Consistent as all get-out. Okay, except for that lame fake punt/pass in the Jacksonville game.

5. Mike Neal. (See James Starks and Quarless). Potential my butt. Injured too much of the time, and when he gets in the game he's mediocre at best. On the other hand, congrats and thanks to Sam Shields for a solid performance against the Lions after being out with an injury.

Who's with me? Let's send a signed copy of this to TT so we can give him a little bit of help when he's coming up with the 2013 team.

Finley is one of my favorite whipping boys when it is warranted (which is much of the time). But his play is much improved as of late, and he's earned some trust back from Aaron.

How long this continues, I do not know. But for now, I'm not going to rip on YOTTO. I'm hoping he can be a consistent middle-of-the-field threat again, if not the dominant TE we all thought he was becoming.
Agree on Starks.. This has been his M.O. since Buffalo.

Agree on Saturday.. I was excited about the signing, now I can't wait to see him go.

OLB's playing are our backups.. Not every backup is going to come in and play like a pro-bowler. We will try to upgrade while keeping costs down again next year.

Disagree in AQ. He isn't going to be Gronkowski or Graham, but he WORKED his way into becoming a devastating blocker. That says something about the type of mentality he has, you want guys like that on your team. Plus, what other injuries has he suffered?

Neal.. About ready to give up on him.
Ok, I'm bored so I'll play.

If it was Starks contract year, I imagine they would move on, but he has a year left on his contract at basically league minimum, so the only way they don't bring him to training camp is if they have too many bodies. But I agree, can't be counted on.

Saturday, nothing new here. Bad decision in retrospect. Move on.

OLBs, if Mathews and Perry were healthy, we would be talking about what great OLBs we have. Zombo is probably gone, had his chance. Jones is actually playing a respectful inside right now all things considered. He might hang just because of this.

Quarless, LS had it right. Very bad injury, he still should have a chance.

MN has too much contract to eat first of all, secondly, still shows potential. Again, contract is friendly enough that he will be around next year, especially with Picket getting old.

Keep in mind, with the exception of Saturday, we are talking backups and backups to backups. Believe me, most teams don't have guys half as good as our 2nd and 3rd stringers.

I was never a kool-aid drinker but what the hell, ROTTT, this is two years in three he as had enough replacements to warrant an injury wave that would devastate most teams.
Hey I told you I was sick and losing my job. And you expected pleasantries?
But I will give you this---I do not have a degree in playing the tight end position. I do not generally watch them block, and some of you have said he
can be very good there. So be it. My biggest memory of him is in a game where he was wide open for a pass and he tripped over his own shoelaces. As a receiver I've seen nothing. I can accept that he's worthwhile as a blocker if you guys say he is. But think back--remember when people said we had an embarrassment of riches at the TE position? Now--how many great plays have our TE's made this year? I rest my case. Please pass the Kleenex and the Nyquill.

1. James Starks. The fact they did not IR him with his "multiple weeks" knee injury tells me he's not going anywhere.

2. Jeff Saturday. Saturday did not give up any (pass) pressures vs DET and handled the wet ball well. I doubt they expected more than a year from him. I have been critical of him this season but he had a good game Sunday night.

3. OLB's from Hell. Please let's dump Zombo, Brad Jones, Lattimore, etc. Agreed on Zombo, he offers nothing. Jones and Lattimore are ILBs. Jones is only starting because they lost Bishop and Smith. Lattimore is a 3rd string LB now and a very good STer. Like Jarrett Bush you don't plan on playing him on D and when you have to you have been hit hard by injury. Not sure why the dis-like for Lattimore.

4. Quarless. Go to youtube and watch the clip of him blowing up his knee and then tell me about how he should be back by now. I was hopeful about his return and like his talent (not potential), but I am okay with him on IR until next camp.

5. Mike Neal. Potential my butt. Injured too much of the time, and when he gets in the game he's mediocre at best. Disagree... when he is on the field he is very disruptive. Injury has been his downfall.

Sucks being 9-4, leading the NFCN with a chance to win the division @CHI in week 15, and a shot at a bye. God I hate being a Packers fan.

Still sorry to hear about your job situation.
Yes, Jones has been a big upgrade over DJ Smith. Obviously Bishop is the guy you want in that position, but Jones is a quality backup. Also, I don't understand the negativity about Neal. He's stayed healthy this season (no less than most other guys), and he's played pretty well for the most part. He'll be back soon enough, and with Matthews and Woodson also in the mix, he'll play a key role in generating pass rush along with Worthy, Raji and Daniels (because we all know the OLBs not wearing #52 can't get near the QB).
