What got me thinking about this are the following...
- 2010 base defense was a 2-4-5 where Packers played 3 corners (Tramon, Woodson, Shields).
- 2014 squad looks crazy cornerback deep - Shields, Tramon, Hayward, Hyde
- Uncertain about S and ILB
- Strategic impact of Peppers signing.
Just some thoughts on base defense and who plays where. One thing I am wondering is can Hyde play safety? Would Peppers play OLB?
Come to think of it, that would be an awesome package. Given the signing of Peppers and their depth at C, they could play a 2-4-5 and rotate a lot at DL. Also, if Packers are a bit weak at S, 3 corners would temper not so good safety play at pass defense.
