Dorsey is another guy worth watching. He looks the part but a guy like Myles White seems to make more plays. It's going to be interesting to see who the #5 WR is this year
Bonger - that pic rocks!!
I found it to be generally unwatchable. There's no real flow to a practice of that type and it just doesn't make for quality television.
All that matters is it helped the team get on the right track to win regular season & playoff games.
We talkin' bout practice here.....practice
One of the best rants ever
Thus far, knock on wood, I've been very pleased with reports coming out of practice and most importantly, with injuries or lack there of. Aside from Abby, none have been serious.
My only injury concern is Guion's labia. It seems a bit cranky.
I'll complain a little ..........
I get to watch inside NFL training camp on NFL network in the evenings. I see a lot of Cleveland & Dallas, some of Atlanta, Philly, Dolphins, & Arizona, and a little about some other teams. But NOTHING about the Packers - Nothing. They don't even mention that GB has a team when I was watching. Is that GB? Or the NFL Network?
Just heard from source that #Packers TE Colt Lyerla is having MRI done today. As you'd expect, sounds like this may be serious.
So if he's injured, the Packers can do an injury settlement, right? Or the IR him and retain him? If they IR him, do they have first crack at resigning him for next year or can they PS him?
Maybe Lyerla can join Abbrederis on IR. Abby tweets ACL. Guess TT knew what he was doing by bringing Gillette into camp.
And here I thought we'd be due for a year off injuries...
according to rotoworld:
Colt Lyerla
5/19/2014: Signed a three-year, $1.530 million contract. The deal contains no guaranteed money. 2014: $420,000, 2015: $510,000, 2016: $600,000, 2017: Restricted Free Agent
Toughest thing for him might be staying away from the devil dust with 400k in his pocket
He's currently under a court-supervised probation period which means constant pee testing and regular reporting in with the court/judge instead of a probation officer.
He has a lot riding on his good behavior; including his future freedom
Every year we think we have a position that is really deep and it gets pared down by injuries. I don't know why this year would be any different. Next up, DB and RB (though maybe JF's sacrifice to the gods may have kept the rest safe.)

A fifth round pick and a UFA potentially on IR. This team is doomed, DOOMED I SAY!!

So since he's under a multi-year contract, they would either IR him (after passing injury waiver period) with a slight possibility of bringing him back later in the season (very doubtful) or just cut/waive him with an injury settlement.
I would think they'd want to try to hang on to him if they initially signed him to a 3 year deal.
I remember saying the same stuff when Tretter got hurt in OTAs last year.
I am hoping the kid makes it to the PS. Needs the year of work to knock off the rust, learn the system and what it takes to be a pro, and continue to get his **** together. Physically he could be the most talented TE Green Bay has has since Ron Kramer. Worry that some other team might try to nab him, though, with the lure of making someone else's 53 this year.
Here's hoping that Lyerla realizes that at this stage of his life and career it's not going to get any better for him than in Green Bay. The organization will provide the support structure and guidance that he needs, and from a football perspective it won't be any better elsewhere, either. I'd like to think that TT/MM's roll of the dice on him will inculcate some loyalty.
"inculcate"
Good word.
Can we stop the injuries now? Please??? Abby & Lyerla is enough for the next 30 weeks or so
