A full accounting of resources general manager Ryan Pace has used to acquire potential starting quarterbacks during his tenure is staggering. They used a total of nine draft picks to maneuver for and select Mitch Trubisky in 2017 and later Fields. It required a fourth-round pick to acquire veteran Nick Foles from the Jacksonville Jaguars. And Foles, Mike Glennon, Chase Daniel and Andy Dalton will have earned at least $44.5 million between 2017 and 2021. That's on top of the $29 million they paid Trubisky and the roughly $19 million they will have to guarantee Fields.

Hey, they gave up 2 firsts, a third and Kyle Orton for Cutler.  Its the franchise that keeps on giving.  Its interesting to see how excited everyone around here in Chicago is over Fields.  Wonder how it will work out?

Have mercy, that brings up painful memories of The Gory Years.
Starting before the Hadl trade, every year was a struggle, to put it mildly.
Endless trades and draft picks that were mostly forgettable. And when they had an opportunity to acquire some real talent (A. Manning, Marino), they failed.

Dickey and Majik offered some brief respite, but they were short-lived. 20+ years of futility. Jeebus, that was some rough times.

But the Bores? Whole 'nother level. They're working on, what?... 35 years?

We all know how this story ends but it's still a joy to watch it unravel.

Bears fandom...the same group of rocket scientists who collectively A) were glad to see Adrian Amos leave, B) laughed that the Packers paid so much for him and C) thought they pulled on over on us by essentially swapping Amos for HHCD.

Hey watch who your calling "rocket scientists".  I would think it should have been stated like this; "...… the same group of kitchen appliance designers who …".  Those appliances never work for long - same as a Bear fan.

So Nagy announced da Bears will be starting Andy Dalton.  Glad to hear this, Dalton is a loser from way back.  Guess Fields will have to wait for a while for the Packers to beat him too.

If you look at it from the perspective they got the best QB they've had in the last 50 years for that price, it doesn't sound so bad.

Is there anothe Andy Dalton that plays QB that I don't know about?  Cause the one that played for Cincy and then Dallass sure ain't any kind of winner.
