As a side note, if any of you have the time or ability to get yourself a quality antenna to get Over The Air broadcasts, DO IT.  The HD is SO much better than cable or dish compressed signals.

You can use HD Homerun to get the signal to the rest of your house without additional wires.

That's interesting. I'd have thought sending a signal through a cable would have better resolution than sending it through the air. Why is it better?

It's physics.  There's a certain amount of data you can pass within a frequency.  Cable and Satellite have to pass all their channels through the frequency modulation of their signal.

With over the air, it's UHF or high frequency VHF.   When the signal has it's own frequency, all the digital data has it's own highway.   With cable and satellite, it's still all shared.

If you have the time, the facing, and the $, explore your options.  Antenna.org will tell you what you need for an antenna.

Absolutely agree with this Cave. The over the air HD signal from the HD antennae in my garage attic produces a significantly better picture than the HD signal through my cable.

The OTA signal is not compressed.

I used my mount from my old DTV dish and the cable.  I bought an antenna from Channel Master off amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/prod...01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It's a beast and I get 65 channels south of the Twin Cities.   It's amazing.
