Brutal blow for the Cardinals...
Details on Cardinalsβ CB Patrick Peterson being suspended six games for violating the NFLβ performance-enhancing drug policy:https://t.co/x6iDR9Zb9y

Say, hypothetically, the Cardinals were falling apart by week 6 and were looking to dump the salary of a guy like Peterson while the Packers were looking more like a contender by week 6 BUT Kevin King has been nicked up and Josh Jackson isn't looking like starter quality yet. At that point Peterson's cap hit would only be about $6.8M for 2019 and about $13M in 2020. He carries the risk of a full year ban for his next offense, but he's 28, he's extremely talented and has been pretty durable. Do you ride out the injuries with King and bank on Jackson continuing to improve or do you make a move to lock down the CB position?
I personally would be all in for a move for Peterson lock down corners aren't easy to come by and you can never have enough CB's IMHO.
The problem to me is could the Packers absorb that kind of salary cap hit?
Do it if he agrees to a restructure with stipulations put in regarding a suspension...if that is even possible. Great player, but definitely a risk!
Too much money and too big a risk.
Hard pass.
Don't forget about Tony Brown either. Might end up being a better corner than Josh Jackson.
Hereβs what we know about Tony Brown. His 40 speed is slightly behind his speed to pick up 15 yard penalties. Heβs a guy at corner like Jake Ryanβs a guy at LB.
I donβt like that the Chargers staff that saw Casey Hayward as a FA steal saw Tony Brown as totally disposable.
Josh Jackson might be the third best S on the roster today. Kid has a lot of talent. Gotta be patient with Josh. If you subscribe to the theory college production is a predictor of NFL success then give the kid a little time.
Going to have to improve his tackling if you move him to safety. Agree with being patient with him, but he's been underwhelming so far.

Put me on the list of Tony Brown doubters. He made too many bonehead plays last year.
Jackson started hot and faded as the season went on. He wasn't T-buck horrible, I don't get the hate. Pretty much had a standard rookie year for a DB.
Agreed. You'd think he signed some giant FA contract instead of being a rookie.
Not only is Jackson adjusting to the NFL, but the Packer Defensive staff needs to adjust in how to best use him. It was widely known that he was better in zone at IOWA and limited in bump and run...limited top end and much better facing the QB. Pettine needs to make it easier for him.
jackson will always be limited by his speed. Hope it works out better for him than the last two slow corners (Gunter and Rollins).
Not a good way to get noticed :
New York, NY - Green Bay Packers free agent Mo Wilkerson ran through a stop sign at 3:30 am, then failed a sobriety test. Arrested for OWI.
Disagree. Clearly chugged that beer way better than his QB did. Impressive!
Probably not on his way to a job interview at 3:30 in the morning.
Mo can throw any HOF aspirations out the window along with that pile of beer cans. They probably didn't print he was fined for littering and hoping while intoxicated.

drunk driving may kill a lot of people, but it also helps a lot of people get to work on time, so, it;s impossible to say if its bad or not,
