The Bears stand a good chance of winning like 5 or 6 games this year. And that’s before they started losing players due to injury or potential trades (Roquan Smith).
They aren’t a good team by any stretch and Justin Fields is going to take a lot of hits and throw a lot of picks.

Yep. TT gave up a 4th and a 7th to trade up 9 spots in the second round to take him.
I think they knew Spriggs was going to struggle for a while as soon as he had his first practice in training camp. However, a lot of OL struggle to adjust the first year or so and then get better. If anything, he seemed to get worse.
He made 7 million dollars in his career to take about 1200 NFL snaps.
The only bigger high round OL bust that TT had was D. Sherrod, and he was likely going to be at least an average player until the gruesome leg injury.

That trade worked out kinda crazy
Antonio Morrison ended up playing in GB and Spriggs spent some time in Indy
And the team the Packers jumped in draft to land Spriggs , ( Da Bears) snagged Spriggs when we were done with him.
Morrison was later tossed off an airplane at Austin Straubel for failing to listen to the flight attendant and then saying: " Fuck you ! You don't own this plane"

And then the Bears ended up selecting OL Cody Whitehair. Whitehair has been pretty solid for the Bears and turns out to be the much better pick.

Well, that’s that for a former favorite of some fans.
In 2020 Austin was in GB for 4 games. He had 5 catches for 20 yards. I looked this up and I don't remember any of them.
I just remember that Austin just wasn’t impressive in his short stint in Green Bay. At his size you need exceptional football speed. He just wasn’t fast or explosive enough at his size to be effective anymore. And he was never that special even when he was in his prime.

4 yards per catch is pretty forgettable.
With the Tyron Smith injury in Dallas, I wonder if @by_JBH’s suggestion of Royce Newman as possible trade bait becomes a reality sooner than anticipated.

With Zach Tom’s emergence at tackle and Jake Hanson’s ascendence at guard, Newman may be a luxury worth dealing.
That would be awesome... He's serviceable, but the fact that we are hoping that other young guys beat him out tells you he isn't the long term answer. Get a 4th back for him and try again.

Dealing Newman would be a terrible move. I'm not sure he's a tackle though and why he would even be of interest to the Cowboys.
