I think getting Martinez a running mate at ILB might be something the Packers really need to address.  I like Martinez's motor and he does make plays but he isn't a thumper who will hurt you type of guy.  That is something I personally think they need is a ILB that will put a hurt on someone and I think as someone has said this is something the Pack has been needing for years.

It is and I agree but that job description has become a bit obsolete.  Desmond Bishop would not be as useful today as he was in 2010.  Now you need speed guys more like Deion Jones, Deone Buchanon (more DB than LB), Ryan Shazier.  If you're really lucky you get a guy like Keuchly or Urlacher who could both chase and hit.   But that is an unrealistic expectation.  Roquan Smith and T. Edmunds (more LB than DB) may fit that bill but they are not traditional "thumpers".

looking through some of the stuff on the interwebs, I would say our needs look like: cb,s,wr,te,lb/de - looking at the cb situation, it sucked last year, that includes the s play, I know there is an element of pass rush and that contributes, but our cb' s were less than marginal S position was the same.  with burnett, house, likely leaving, this leaves some holes - not to mention the injuries.  the first pick should be db/s as far as I can see.  I love the lb/de choices they definitely are always hard to fill, but i see the secondary as deficient.  imagine if we pair king with someone like lattimore on the saints, that would be awesome.

I don't think the S position is dire.  Burnett is generally overrated.  I really like Brice and Jones has a chance to be good.  In fact, I like Brice better than both Burnett and Dix.

Green Bay played 11 different combinations of personnel at OL in 2017. 11. They didn’t play their preferred starting 5 together until week 6. Lost three starters in that game. Then played the preferred 5 again in week 9 and lost Bulaga that week for the season.

Nothing changes until the OL in GB is solidified.

The year before our starting 3 of our current 5 all played over 97% of snaps. Only Lang (72%) and Linsley/Tretter (~50%) each were in and out. The year before Lang played 90% of snaps. In 2017 Linsley was one of the few players in the league that played 100% of snaps for their team. OL is a tough area, I think the starting 5 is solidified just fine with Bakh, Taylor, Linsley, McCray, and Bulaga. I don't think it's realistic to see our starting 5 to play all season together, there's always going to be one guy (especially Guards) who are going to be in and out.

If they bring back Jahri then depth at OG is even better, especially with Patrick. We need a veteran backup at Tackle though ahead of Murphy and Spriggs.

I agree overall. However, the most important thing is that Bak stays healthy. The other guys are important for continuity (and not having to play a turnstile like Spriggs last year), but they are better off shuffling at the other 4 positions than they would be if they lost Bak and had the same 4 guys start at the other 4 positions for 16 games.

I think they like Murphy as a swing tackle well enough and I'm betting they give Spriggs another year (and Philbin a crack at him). If healthy, the offensive line is fairly solid. I can see a day 3 pick on a guy who projects with center skills but I doubt they spend an early pick on the line unless an Isaiah Wynn falls to the third or some other weird aberration like that.

I agree on the OL if they can stay healthy I think they are a stronger group than we give them credit for.  The key is (as with the rest of this team) is health.  I do think they need to figure out RT because even though Bulaga is a good one he is an injury waiting to happen.

I know the Packers have invested heavily in defense the last few years I think they need to do it again.  As a previous poster said just get some play makers regardless of position.

It's going to be interesting to see just what Gute does in his first draft. There are so many possibilities. I've read two reports that say Gute will use some of  his comp picks so he will have two First Round picks. There are other reports saying he will use some of those comp picks to move to a higher position in the draft to try and get someone he has his eye on. All of this is speculation and will all change come draft day as no one knows what teams will do to try to improve themselves.

I would be fully on board if the Packers were to draft Jackson in the first round.  To me that would give them some really good talent at CB with Jackson, King, Randall and if Rollins ever gets his act together.

Jackson might be a great talent, but I think the combination of needing a veteran presence in the secondary (HHCD doesn't cut it) and the more pressing need for an edge rusher leads the Packers in that direction in first round.

If Quenton Nelson somehow slides past the Bengals and Buc’s he could land in GB. That’s the dream scenario.

With the exception of Barkley and Ward Nelson might be the best sure bet as a future pro. He looks like a generational G. Nasty with an incredible football IQ. Put him next to Bak for the rest of Rodgers career.

I'd rather have Isaiah Oliver if a corner is the pick there. He looks faster when covering deep, though Jackson is by no means bad. The guy I don't want is Denzel Ward. He's built in the Terrell Buckley/Ahmad Carroll mold.

I hope and I pray they stay away from Denzel Ward.  From all accounts O$U listed him at 5'10" but I guess he is more like 5'8".  And as you all know I had the misfortune of seeing all of the O$U games this year and Ward while he did well at times also got torched frequently.
