Guys take up right where they left off last night.  A 6 run 1st inning, featuring a Grand Slam by Shaw after an rbi single by Braun and then back to back with a Perez homer too.  Braun adds a homer in the 3rd to make it 7-0.

If I were Matt Albers and was on the backside of my career, but still able to command $1M+ per season, I think I might consider working out during the off season.  Maybe get myself a nutritionist.

That has to end any sort of hope for using Albers again unless you're already in a blowout and on the wrong end of that blow out.  This team is in a pennant race and can't afford to be hoping Albers can regain what he had early this year.  I don't know whether he can go to the minors or not, but that's where he belongs.  He took an 8-2 cushion and gave the Rockies hope that they never should have had.

They were darn lucky it didn't cost them this game.  They cannot make that mistake again this year if they want to have any hope for making the playoffs.

Was following the bottom of the 9th online. It seems to have been a huge gaffe by Counsell not to pinch run for Kratz. Arcia doubles and Braun scores from second, but Kratz can't score from first. The next batter strikes out to end the game. Why wouldn't you pinch run in that situation?

I don’t think Yelich would have scored from first

Thanks. Sounds like it wasn't a typical double where a guy with decent speed scores from first.

Also there was no one left to pinch run except a pitcher or Pina.  He was saving Perez to pinch hit for Burnes, there was no other non pitcher left except Pina.

Also the Brewers claimed Jordan Lyles off waivers from San Deigo. I hope this means the end of Albers when he is activated Tuesday or Wed.
