I stopped watching that game when Lyles was coming out for the next inning. Woke up to hear the great news about the glorious win. Nice to give the Pirates 1 day of heartbreak after they gave us about a week's worth back in July.
You don't often go 14 innings without scoring a run and walk away without a loss
canât win the division if canât beat teams in it. This inability to beat the pirates alone is going to cost them dearly.
After Yelich and Cain, nobody in this lineup really helping much. Aguilar had a great 1st half, but he's been very ordinary since the All Star break. Braun has been playing better but due to age and injury misses 1/3 of the games. The everyday lineup just isn't cutting it right now. Nobody from lineup spots 3-8 is doing great.
Just had a 6 run 3rd inning. 2 run homers by Moustakis and Pina.
Very good effort from guys 3-8 so far today, lots of good contact. Even most of the outs were hard hits in the first few innings.
Pirates back in it. Now 6-4 in the 6th inning with 1 on and no one out. Looks like Anderson is going to make it past 5+ innings. They need to get him out NOW.
Anderson is giving up home runs at an alarming rate right now.
Our 2 new guys hit home runs and the pitcher throws a shutout inning. Their new guy got tagged for 6 runs.

Scope is a better hitter than Eric Sogard. Significantly better.
They gotta go on a run here... 2-1 is not going to cut it to get back on top of the division/WC. They gotta get hot, run off 6-7 in a row.
