Is Jesus hurt?  Will he play today?  No and yes as far I can tell.  Play ball.

The only way he gets hit is if the the game is way one sided.  The Brewers cannot afford to have a pitcher kicked out early in a close game.

Plenty of time next year for some serious chin music.

Agree. Base runners are way too valuable in the types of games these are turning out to be.

No, I'm not saying they should throw at him. Just that it would have happened in the old version of MLB.

You don't want to start that kind of crap now, you just gotta move on and make them pay by ending their season.

Agreed on the HFA thing. I think it should be something like a 2-2-2-1 series.

Machado was mouthing off something fierce after he almost got picked off in the 13th right before he scored. Throw anywhere on the 3rd base side of second and he’s gone.

Hes an a-hole and I think he takes one to the rib cage at some point this series.

To paraphrase Gary Gaetti "it's hard to hit with both hands around your neck".

Not sure that applies to our lads but some of them appear to be a bit tight.  A couple of early hits would take some of the pressure off and allow them to loosen up.  All slumps end, lets hope it is today.

The further in to a 7 game series you get, the pressure starts to go up a notch with each game. Brewers may be starting to feel that. I like the blend of personalities of this team though and I think they have what it takes to pull out it. They rallied at the end the season when they had to. Yelich, Cain, and Moustakis will need to get back on track and show some life today, win or lose.

Tough one last night.

No problem - Just go out & beat their ace AGAIN! this afternoon

Disappointed in Moose so far in the NLCS - he's had multiple chances to cash in & has failed every one so far

I wonder who'll they activate in place of Gonzalez?

I don't really trust any of their options at pitcher. Chase Anderson hasn't pitched since Sept. 18th, Zach Davies not since Sept. 28th (and he got hit hard when he came back), Dan Jennings not since Sept. 24th, Jordan Lyles not since Sept. 30th. If you activate any of these 4, you probably don't pitch them except in a blowout in either direction. If you are down by more than 5 runs you might as well pitch Kratz or Hernan Perez in what amounts to a 3 game series.

I'd rather see another bat that at least put some fear into the Dodger pitching staff that they could beat with one pitch. Santana has been great, but with as many pinch hitters that Counsell uses it would be nice to add another bat. Do they consider adding Broxton for pinch running/defense (but sacrifice a viable pinch hitter to do so?)? How about Thames? I know he's been terrible the last couple of months, but when he gets on a hot streak he's as feared a streak hitter as their is in baseball.

Chacin and Woodruff should be rested and will hopefully cover 6-7 innings today.

Jeffress also rested, but can you pitch him in a tight spot? Hader has never pitched 3 days in a row, so he may not be available today. That means Knebel or Jeffress in the late innings in pressure situations.

Jeffress buckled down on Monday night and got out of his own self-inflicted jam. But the Dodgers have scored 11 total runs this series. Jeffress has given up 2 earned runs and allowed 4 of 5 inherited runners to score.

The Dodgers have scored 6 runs in 2 1/3 innings facing Jeffress. They've scored 5 runs in 37 1/3 innings against the rest of the staff. Jeffress has also allowed 9 baserunners in his 2 1/3. He's lucky it hasn't been much worse.

I'm not sure you can pitch him in a tight spot right now.

Game 5 is always the pivotal tilt in a tight series. Should be happening at Miller Park. Milwaukee earned this and should bat last. It’s bull**** this game is taking place in LA. It changes everything about how the pen is utilized and when it’s utilized.

Games 5 & 7 should always be home field advantage. Always. Those are games that the best team earned. The odd games belong to the better record. **** MLB for tilting the odds here.

Gio looks done to me. Sat behind home plate Friday night....his stuff is slow and he relies solely on nibbling the edges...lucky he didn't give up more than just the dinger to Punk Ass Mother ****ing Dirty Assed Machado.

Need Miley to continue his magical season.

Need "playoff" Kershaw today. His stuff isn't the same anymore.

Time to get the bats going boys !!! Thought Counsell needed to move runners over last night instead of relying on the big swing. You are who you are I guess.

C'mon Crew, just 6 more wins !!!

It's Miley today, not Chacin. Also Davies replaced Gonzalez.

Thanks. I guess they think they'll need a guy like Davies to chew up some innings. I'm a little surprised they added a starting pitcher instead of Jennings or another bat or Broxton for defense.

They do need Lorenzo Cain to get going, but Yelich makes this team an offensive powerhouse when he's on (which was most of the second half).

Yelich Brewer wins (89 games): .386, 29 HR, 90 RBI, 16 steals, 50 walks, 1.205 OPS

Yelich in Brewer losses (58 games); .233, 7HR, 20 RBI, 6 steals, 18 walks, 681 OPS

The OPS differences of those 2 in wins and losses is staggering. Most guys are going to look better in wins, but Yelich is steroid-level Barry Bonds plus in wins and the equivalent of an average player like Charlie Moore in losses.

Braun OPS win/losses (885/615); Cain (918/661); Aguilar (979/759); Shaw (972/603).

If Yelich gets hot again, the Brewers have multi-run leads to protect. If he doesn't get hot again, at best the Brewers are going to have high tension games to try to squeak out wins in.
