The "previous regime" wasted the prime of Aaron Rodgers.

I nominate this post as worst post of month.  After the 2014 season the Packers lost in overtime the the Seahawks in NFCC game.  In 2015 lost to Arizona, again in overtime in the 2nd round. In 2016 they again lost the NFCC game to Atlanta.  In 2017 Rodgers was injured most of the year. So tell us again how did the "previous regime" waste the prime of Rodgers career?   Must be because they let him get injured.

I believe that retaining someone at a position as critical as defensive coordinator should he have been let go rates high enough to qualify wasting the prime of Rodgers.  I don't have a detailed memory of the specific games, but I am pretty sure in most of them there was the sense the offense needed to do more than it really should have had to (because of close to zero confidence in the defense).

In other words, a lot of the time the defense royally sucked and to repeat, that was a lot of wasting the prime of Rodgers.

I sense some serious cognitive dissonance here.  Anyone who agrees Capers should have been let go and the defensive side was a serious issue and does NOT believe much of Rodgers prime was wasted is believing in a serious contradiction.

Both cannot be true.

Nailed it.   Capers should have been gone after the San Francisco debacle in 2012 where they surrendered 45 points.  The year prior, we lost in the divisional round to the Giants by giving up 37.

If your argument was talent and not coaching, than it should have been TT.   We would have missed out on 1- Nick Perry, 1 - Datone Jones, 1 - Clinton Dix, and 1 - Damarious Randall, 1 - Kenny Clark, 1 - Kevin King.

Only 1st rounder who has been a + is Clark.   If King continues on his path, he will be viewed in the same light as Nick Perry.

Absolutely wasted.

too rich for my blood (and likely Gutey's too).

Good for Thomas though, his last decent contract.

The debate goes to those who pissed and moaned about TT the entire time he was a GM, not the fact everything went to shit at the end.  TT's health failing, McVince being McVincey and keeping yes men clowns and The Wizard around and Murphy being clueless about the whole thing are common talking points but building a Super Bowl team is conveniently excluded.

So I suggest people get a grasp on the context of what is or isn't being said.

Looking at our DL and I want to ask what you think of Muhammad Wilkerson and Montravius Adams.  Of course we didn’t get much of a look at MW last season.  Do you guys think either or both will ever be stalwarts?  Or are they both JAG’s?

Adams, not hopeful he pans out.  I think at this point Wilkerson is one of those mid-tier guys that'll be great in a rotation if he can stay on the field.  I'd be happy if Adams became a capable, mid tier type of player.  I think that's his ceiling.

 PFF 2018 Pressures -

Za’Darius Smith with 60 pressures in 691 snaps, most of any player in the league playing less than 700 snaps.

Preston Smith with 53.

Packer leaders:

Clark (46) and Daniels (32)- missed multiple games

Matthews led the Packers on the edge with 30

Watching P. Smith, Kenny Clark, Mike Daniels, and Z. Smith man the front is gonna be fun.

If they stay healthy it could be tons o'fun.

Now kill the draft, and protect AR.

Any word on where any of our three departing $10,000,000+ a years "stars" (Cobb, Matthews, and Perry) might be heading?

I guess Nick just got notice he no longer has a spot in the Pack's hot tub, but how about Clay and Randall?

Surely multiple teams are fighting to sign these two up, right?

Try Google you lazy ****.  Nice pretense to piss and moan some more like your twin idiot.

I'd have taken him on that deal...but that was before I knew Amos was available...I thought he would either re-sign with Chitcago or follow Fangina to Denver.

I agree with that and never wanted him switched back after his last stint at ILB.  He looks intimidating on the inside and played better than he did on the edge.  Offenses looked like they were having a hard time accounting for him out of that slot.

I'm guessing they only moved him back out of need.  That and because he wanted the increase in high-profile sacks OLB's are supposed to get.  Irony is, his sack numbers went up when he moved inside IIRC.

Matthews back and in the middle heck yeah bring it.

Even if they don't move Matthews inside, he'd be good in a situational role rather than an every down player.

Matthews has always been a product of the weight room.  Look at last year: he started out the season looking pretty good (remember the late hits that weren't?).  It's as the season wears on that his body breaks down (at least since they developed a way to test for HGH in 2014, that is).

In the middle, he's not taking on the other team's most athletic lineman (OT's), or getting double teamed.  He can eat guards and centers up.  Or if they want to save him for 3rd and long, that works too.

CM's explosiveness took a significant hit  beginning when he was implicated in the James Harrison case
