Mayock got the GM job because nobody....and I do mean NOBODY else wanted it with Gruden. So happy Reggie Mac got out of that cesspool

Disagree. I would have taken that job in a second. First time the Vikes came to play in Vegas, Itching powder throughout the entire locker room!

As PKR_NORTH said, "remember what you are outside of football".

For AB the obvious answer is 'nothing'.  I wouldn't think of him as being dependable enough to hire as a pizza deliver guy.

They always talk about the 30 mill guaranteed the Steelers gave him.  The fact is that the Steelers bumped his pay up 4 of the six years he was with the team trying to satisfy him.  Then he complains when he isn't targeted enough - that is how you worm your way to six 1000+ yard seasons.  If your a GM and AB isn't on your team - stay clear of him and count your blessings.  If your a GM and AB is on your team, call in a truck load of aspirin, your going to need it.

My understanding is that if AB is on the roster in week 1, his big $ contract is guaranteed.  This is just another reason why the Raiders have to be the dumbest franchise in all of sports.

You get rid of guys like Cooper and Mack, who are obviously very talented and great locker room guys, and not only bring in this dipshit but keep him??

Lulz.

LOL. I confess I had to look up John Wick.
Maybe I need to get out more....

In any case, my bark is much worse than my bite.
However, I cannot stomach vain, arrogant, pretentious assholes like Brown. They need to learn how to be humble and grateful for their opportunities in life.
I can't think of a better way for that to happen.

Shiiiiiit, if I'm Mayock I'm negotiating my own damn buyout.  That situation is going to hell quick.

There's one problem with that.  Mayock is a ****ing moron.

I don't think Mayock is a moron.  That said, just because a guy does a pretty good job as a college football color analyst and is an amateur dratnik doesn't autmatcally make him a good GM candidate.  Not in my wildest dreams would I have thought A. Brown was this much of a headcase, and Mayock obviously underestimated that as well.  Mayock seems like a decent guy who may have made a bad mistake with acquiring this maniac.

Mayock was hired because as a former talking head and analyst, he really didn’t know squat about what happens in an NFL front office so he is at the mercy of Davis and Gruden. Reporting from the outside is far different than being in the office every day. In the case of AB, Gruden obviously thought he could “handle” him, and Davis probably looked at AB as the ultimate Raider—bad boy image, cocky, etc.—and able to put fans in the seats in LV. I believe the old saying that applies to Mayock is, “Lie down with dogs, don’t be surprised to wake up with fleas.”

That makes him an idiot on two fronts.  Thinking he could be a GM with no experience and signing AB because he has no experience.  It's idiot Snyderbrenner disease.  "I have money, therefore I know what's going on".  "I'm an analyst, therefore I must know what's going on".

If anything it's hubris.
