You can't miss something you never had. Sanders may have been a good fit. But by the same token, we should also trust what we saw on Sunday. This offense is just getting started. It's conceivable the bump SF gets from Sanders is equal to the bump the Packers get from a healthy 17 when he comes back. His injury is a blessing in disguise in more ways than one. Anyone want to put $ down that a settled-in Lazard is more capable of making plays in December than Sanders? I'm all for trying to improve this team's personnel, but there's also a chemistry factor that is blossoming right now on the entire offense. Could it be that Gute and MLF recognize this and are choosing to coach these young guys up so their athleticism takes over in a few weeks? I think pieces are still being moved around, and maxing out the strength of each roster spot is a work in progress. I'll take AR and his trust of our own wideouts to at the very least match what Garappolo gains with ES.

SF is 6-0 and have only played 2 games at home so far.  They have an elite D and Garappolo is playing well.  They're currently the best in the west and a top 3 team in the NFC.

One advantage we do have (in my mind, anyway) is they have only played one division game so far (vs the Rams).
If each team can at least split with them, that's 2 losses. That could be the difference between a possible #1/#2 seed, or #5/#6.

I think they're going down at least two or three more times, and we'll win two of three of our remaining division games.

For the past week my son has been telling me Sanu was going to be traded and that heโ€™d be a good fit in GB behind Adams as a #2. I was coming around on the idea. But a #2 pick for Sanu is complete insanity. And if thatโ€™s the market for WRs at the deadline then GB should ride with what they have.

Agreed.  That deal just upped any prospective price on guys like Green or Sanders.  I am starting to think that if any deals are made, it should be for the middle of the defense....possibly a Howard Green type addition.  Outside of Clark and Lowry, the D-line is nothing to shout about, and an injury to Martinez would be very costly as we have no depth there, let alone a second high level inside LB.

An injury to Martinez is going to improve the defense the same way Nick Barnetts did in 2010. WTF have you been watching? Martinez is leading the NFL in tackles. Which is the most fucked up stat Ive ever seen. I'm willing to bet 85% of Martinez' tackles are 5 yards downfield. He's a homeless mans version of Hawk. Martinez was a complete nightmare shit show Sunday.

Exactly why they need help in the middle of the front seven.  Like him or not, Martinez is the best option they have. I didn't see Sunday's game (our Fox station showed the Giants shit show), so I can't comment on his performance.  But, who else do they trot out there, Ty Summers?

So the Pats and the 49'ers improve themselves.

Yeah...because after the game Rodgers just put together they're both terrified.

They sure aren't terrified of the defense after the Dallas and Oakland games.

Oh yeah? I'll bet they are after the Bear & Viking games -- You know when Savage was in there & Clark was 100% Grand total of 9 points scored over 2 games -- see...I can cherry pick too.

The whole league knows if Rodgers gets one more weapon at receiver it's over.

Just stay healthy. Lotta football to play yet & looking at the rest of the schedule I think we can pencil in 8 wins (Washington & Chargers) for the Pack? Maybe??

The rest of the games....It's the NFL, anything can & usually does happen.

@H5 -- That is hilarious! Nice find!

So I looked up Sanders stats starting from 2018.

101 Catches / 1,235 Yards / 6 TD's (19 games) don't have the snap count. Sanders also had a rushing TD last year.

Of course Sanu & Sanders didn't have Brady or Garrapolo throwing them the ball. Instead it was Ryan & Keenum/others.

Jimmy G is not good. Jimmy G sucks.

I don't know that he sucks, but his numbers sure are unimpressive. He's like in the 20's for QB rating, TD's, yards, etc...only place he's in the top 10 is INT.

Will be interesting to see him the rest of the way... the 9ers will eventually need to rely on him as they haven't yet.....they have some tough games on the schedule in the second half.

Issue here could be that the Packers played on CBS and not Fox. Problem solved.

Doesn't matter.  We get the Bills game on CBS.

No one is fearing the Packer defense at this point. Yes they have been dominant at times but they have been very inconsistent and gotten some very fortunate bounces of the ball as well. Much of the time it looks like Capers is still there with the deep middle wide open. Yes I realize Savage is out but injuries are reality, Time  will tell what they really are as it feels like they are still trying to find themselves . I think the ceiling is very high but they need to be better

This year our weakness at MLB is once again showing up. Against stronger teams we struggle there but do ok against the rest. We donโ€™t have a Premier MLB like some teams do. We have had to draft DBs instead. Pettine has had to make do with Martinez and whoever. Itโ€™s a trade off. It will continue to be a problem and the team will just have to scheme and play around it..

Still a problem where I live. CBS affiliate in Mpls showed an infomercial for the duration of the Packers-Raiders game, as the vikings were on Fox at the same time. One would think that the Twin Cities retailers would want their ads seen by the Packers-Raiders audience around the Twin Cities viewing area.

LOL....WTF?? Really?!?!?!

I wonder how @ChilliJon would feel if the Pack got Josh Gordon?

We might be better off getting Josh Groban.

At least he has "wind beneath his wings" - or something like that - which Gordon doesn't have.  I assume that in saying that he can literally fly.  Getting his feet down in the end zone and taking the hit might be issues.  Is he a team player or does he have to have "it" his way?
