Game of Thrones is coming back Sunday. Arya Stark better kick ass and win the Iron Throne or I will throw my TV through a wall.

Not everybody likes this show.  But, it got me thinking about the best TV series of all time.  So, Friday's Manufactured Content is this: What are your 3 favorite TV Comedy Series and your 3 favorite Non Comedy Series?

Non-Comedy (God this is so hard to get to 3)

1. Breaking Bad The best written, best acted, best filmed piece of art I've ever seen. Season One is "weaker" than the rest of the series, but I'd put that one series up against anything and it would fair well.

2. Mad Men I worked in Marketing and Advertising so, it naturally had some affinity. Just started rewatching this again, and if anything I'm finding it better than I originally thought.  Probably will be a divisive choice as I find people love love love this or they find it horribly pretentious.  DOOOOONNNNN'TTTT CARE. And, I will argue with anyone that the center of the show is really Peggy.

3. Better Call Saul I'm a sucker for Vince Gilligan, what can I say. I'm actually starting to debate whether this is better than Breaking Bad. I'm kinda thinking - I think this show is better, but the experience of Breaking Bad is better? Meaning, Breaking Bad was so unlike anything and sitting through it was so amazing that it can't be topped. But i'm starting to think BCS is a better show?  I don't know.

Honorable Mention - Sopranos, The Wire, GoT, Season 1 of Twin Peaks, Fargo, Deadwood, Justified, Oz  Man, getting to 3 is hard. I could swap out BCS with any of these and feel good.

Comedy (THIS IS NUTS)

1. Arrested Development (Seasons 1-3 only) There has never been a better run of comedy than these 3 seasons. The pace, the characters, the depths of the jokes, the callbacks, I mean. It's literally insane. A Red Hand Chair in season 1 to Season 2 of Buster's Loose Seal. Buster saying in the first 3 episodes that a party was OFF THE HOOK. GOB. Just fukking GOB. I can't view seasons 4 and 5 outside of my belief of seasons 1-3, so I'm really struggling to understand whether they are good or not. I KNOW they are not even close to 1-3, but I have no idea if they are good in the general terms.

2. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia It's crazy that they've pumped out 12 years of this and they keep it fresh and new enough that it's not just variations of the same thing. The cast is perfect. I would watch 30 minutes of Sweet Dee almost throwing up. WILD CARD BITCHES.

3. Curb Your Enthusiasm I can't get enough of this show. I know that cringe humor is not everyone's cup of tea, but man, it's so so good. I would watch 30 minutes of Susie screaming expletives at Larry.

Honorable Mention - Veep, The Good Place, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, Community, The Office, Brooklyn 99, Seinfeld, Reno 911, Good lord so many good ones

So, let's here it. Top 3 comedy. Top 3 non comedy.

I think you better prepare yourself to throw your TV through the wall.  I dont think Arya Stark wins the throne and if any Stark gets it Sansa will be it.

My prediction? we get a status quo with Cerci remaining on the throne which disappoint everyone or Tyrion Lannisters gets it somehow.  He is the one I am rooting for.

Non comedy:

I cannot argue against Breaking Bad and Mad Men.  Both of those shows to me definately got better after season 1.

But #1 to me will always be the Sopranos.  Just a brilliantly well written and produced show

#2 to is GOT.  I am NOT a person who likes fantasy shows but this one had me right fromt he first episode.

So #3 is a tie for me with Breaking Bad and Mad Men

Comedy:

It really depends on my mood for comedy and really hard to rank them

so in no particular order is Seinfeld, The Office, Parks and Rec, Schitts Creek, Cheers, and even Frasier

Non Comedy-

Nova.  Watch something educational sometimes you dumbasses.

The Fall Guy.  Image result for heather thomas fall guy

Jessica Jones on Netflix.  Just season 1 really.  Also good are the Daredevil series.  Season 2 of Iron Fist.  Season 1 of Luke Cage.  Both Punisher, but the second one is better.

Comedy-

NewsRadio-

KERMIT THE DAMN FROG

ROCKET FUEL

Archer

Sledgehammer

My top 3 Non Comedy shows:

Breaking Bad: Superb writing and great casting. One of the best shows to ever be on television.

Endeavor on Masterpiece: The prelude to the Inspector Morse series showing Endeavor Morse early on in his career.

Perry Mason: Watching Perry and his cohorts unravel whodunits on a weekly basis kept me and my family glued to the TV set.

My Top 3 Comedy shows:

All In The Family: Archie Bunker. Life as viewed with a bigot's eyes.

The Andy Griffith Show: Small town, rural humor. The cast was great in this one.

The Jackie Gleason Show: Especially the segments where Mr Dunahee had to be entertained by Crazy Guggenheim.

some spoilers

Non-Comedy
Game of Thrones
Love it except sometimes it has depravity that adds nothing to the show, at least for me.  I skip Ramsey torture scenes, for example.  There is a scene where some guy plays a joke by sticking his finger in another guy's butt.  I mean, c'mon.  Adds virtually nothing.  But, the show has me riveted so often.  Such a substantial creation by Martin.

Carnivale
Man, I just love this show.  I'll always go back to it and rewatch now and again.

Twin Peaks

Others:
Mad Men (am watching it now), The Wire, True Detective Season 1, Battlestar Galactica, Kung Fu (Kwai Chang Cane perhaps my favorite character in TV), The OA (and love Brit Marling), Better Call Saul, BB, Deadwood

Comedy
Really unsure Frazier is certainly up there.

I am looking forward to checking out Arrested Development.

You can actually bet who wins the throne at the end. Bran is the odds on favorite at (10-11).

My guess? There is NO WAY Cersei lives. You forget the witch in the early episodes that said all her children would die? (Psssttt...they're all dead) Well the witch also said "Her younger brother will kill her" - I'm hoping Jaime takes her out -- delicious (It could be Tyrion though since he seems to be the Lannister slayer)

It's either Jon Snow with his queen Aunt Daenerys on the Iron Throne or the Night King with his new dragon!

Best Non-Comedy:

1. Game of Thrones (and not even close)

2. The Wire

3. Breaking Bad

Best Comedy:

1. Arrested Development

2. 30 Rock

3. South Park

Honorable Mention: It's Always Sunny

And I won't put this in best series of all time, but best series finale was The Shield.  No show I've seen closed out as well as they did.  That ending stuck with me awhile.

On Game of Thrones...

My guess is Jon Snow ends up on the throne.  His trajectory screams for it.  From bastard son of Ned Stark to Aegon Targaryan's son as well as Lynna Stark.  Fire and Ice.

Brann is the perfect advisor (consigliori!).

I wonder if GoT exercises its penchant for killing off characters by having Daenerys die.

That'd be a pretty bittersweet ending.

Well, it's all speculation.

It adds.  It makes you want them dead more.  Or something.  But it adds.

To whomever first posted this!

Now that I've had time to Freystrew about it, Arya will be killed by the Mountain.  Sansa will be captured and raped and killed by the Mountain.  Cersei will be raped and killed by the Night King.  Mormont will be raped and killed by Dany.  Grey Worm will be raped and killed by Euron. And so on and so forth.

Tormond and Brienne will Tormond and Brienne for the win.

I would hope they end it with Jon Snow and Daenerys on the throne with a dragon there with them.  But, I think that would be way to nice of an ending for GOT.  If I had to bet real money on how it ends I will go with Tryion on the throne.  I think you are right Jaime or Tyrion take out Cerci.

Not sure on Bran getting the throne I think somehow being the 3 eyed Raven will be his demise.

Oh how could I have forgotten All in the Family? Can you even begin to imagine if that show was on today the uproar it would cause?
