You mean sugar?

Sugar is certainly not great for us, but read the ingredient list of processed foods. How many chemical products are included? A lot of info showing vegetable oil has an insidious effect on our health.

Yeah, sugar is bad and to make it worse, unlike the 1960's when essentially all sugar was non-GMO cane sugar, now it is almost always GMO corn syrup which I would not touch with a 10 foot pole.

It's amazing how much food has that crap in it.

It's not "our food is crap' or "it's a choice".  A larger part of the poorest demographic are overweight because the most affordable food is usually the least healthy.  It of course is more complicated and pervasive an issue than that but healthy food that is affordable and available, though becoming moreso, is still an exception to the norm.

Yup.   That's exactly what it is.   Cut sugar and you will see significant reductions in body fat.    It's still obviously CICO, calories in calories out, but removing sugar from the average persons diet would cut a significant amount of cals.    

Coffe creamers, soda, sauces... they even put sugar in the ****ing bread.

Yes and no.   When eating out it's cheaper to eat unhealthy.   But eating healthy at home is just as cheap.   A couple crowns of broccoli and 2 roasted chickens is typical lunch for my week.  That's about 10 to 12 bucks for 5 meals.    I could do that or I could get 2 spicy chickens from the dollar menu each day.   My heart says spicy but my a$$hole says go with the broccoli.

Because to bake bread, you need some sort of sugar to feed the yeast. The amount varies according to what type of bread, gluten content, etc. I've baked a "few" loaves in my day - still do. I also bake my own hamburger and hot dog buns. I grew up watching my mom make bread and buns.

Exactly! We have ultra marathon runners coming down with diabetes from carbo loading. What chance do the sedentary public have?

Eat anything you want. Just cook it at home. Have at it. Anything. Just make it from scratch. 

Brussel sprouts are pure fowl tasting trash. But if you oven roast them at 425 with thin sliced garlic, lemon zest, lemon juice, grated Parmesan cheese you have nothing calories and massive flavor. 

Good food isn’t hard. Just make it yourself.
