Played five games for Packers in 2012 (no, I didn't remember); killed in a motorcycle-van collision

Benson, 36, was involved in a motorcycle crash with a minivan in northwest Austin, where he played college football at Texas, that left him and one other dead plus two others injured.

Law enforcement agencies reported that the crash took place at 10:22 p.m. when a motorcycle hit a white minivan that was pulling out onto the roadway. According the the Austin-Travis County EMS, there were a "vehicle and person on fire."

36 is much too young, even for people who messed up their lives.

My cousin, a funeral director in Green Bay, died last year on his motorcycle when an old woman who didn't see him turned right in front of him. Read the comments on the article and you'll find more like that. Why my brother sold his Harley. Just not safe out there on a bike.

That is EXACTLY why we sold our Harley as well......THEY JUST DON’T SEE YA ON A MOTORCYCLE.  We bought a Mazda Miata to experience the β€œopen road, wind in our hair” we enjoyed on the Harley, and it’s safer because they see us.

In this day and age of active cellphone use on the road, riding a bike seems like a crazy thing to do.

RIP, Ced. Couple close ones here as a rider convinced me to stay away from motorcycles. A couple days ago we saw a guy who had just had a "minor motorcycle accident" laying beside the road. (He was being tended to by electrical line workers.) No helmet, no jacket, wearing what looked like shorts but what could have been jeans made into shorts as it was pretty obvious from the skin missing on his arms and legs that he had skidded on the road. I almost felt bad for the dude, but a good lesson for my kid to see...

There was a passenger on the  motorcycle with Benson.

"Aamna Najam, the woman who died Saturday in the motorcycle crash that also killed Cedric Benson, knew Benson for at least a year. In Aug. 8, 2018 Facebook post, she encouraged friends to buy a shirt to support Benson's charity, NUFCED.

According to her Linkedin profile, was a doctoral student in audiology at the University of Texas."
