"The Packers can only go as far as their superstar quarterback can carry them, and in 2018, that wasn’t very far. Despite appearing in every game, there was very little doubt that Rodgers was playing injured most of the year. With tremendous nimbleness in the pocket, incredible arm strength and unmatched accuracy, Rodgers is arguably the most physically gifted quarterback the sport has ever seen. A struggling defense and a multitude of injuries resulted in a disappointing 2018 season, but Rodgers still managed to throw 25 touchdowns to only 2 interceptions. Be ready for a hellbent Rodgers to come out firing for the Pack this season."

That 2015 Hail Mary vs. the Lions in Detroit, that was something you can probably count on 1 hand the number of guys in history that could have made a throw like that.  And even if they could throw it as hard and far as Rodgers, could they put that ball in just about a perfect spot which was just beyond the goal line where Richard Rodgers lumbered to?

Rodgers has certainly made more important throws than that one, but that one is probably my favorite just because of how incredibly high that thing went for what was around a 70 yard throw.  Other guys probably short arm the throw or throw it with a low enough trajectory that it's easier for a defender to knock down.  The way Rodgers throws it, if a defender isn't exactly in the right position, he won't be able to knock it down.  There's always a certain amount of luck in making that kind of throw, but the way Rodgers throws it gives him a better percentage of completing those Hail Mary passes than any QB I have ever seen.

Oh you got that right with the hail Mary pass in Detroit.  One other favorite was the pass to Cook during the Cowboys playoff game (2016?)  on the run.  Not many QBs could have put in that exact spot.

That is likely my favorite.  Super clutch moment, rolling to the left, and the accuracy was perfect.

I think this one is better.

At the end of regulation, in a road playoff game, rolling to his left, across his body, with a guy about to bury him.

60 yards with a perfect trajectory. If the defense wouldn't have Dom'd up the OT, this would be talked about much more.

Of course, we could have a 200 page thread about how they should have gone for 2 right after this to really make it legendary.

I am really curious to see how much playing time AR gets, and how effective he is in the new offense.  I am convinced the team needs more live-play to get on the same page.

On a different note, have you seen 538's analysis on AR?  Its a pretty pessimistic perspective, but the data analytics seem convincing.  (I blame TT, MM and DC for much of the statistics they present.)

Agree. The slants seemed to disappear from the offense the last few years. Not having a decent TE for years (RichRod!) hurt too.

I agree that he needs to play to get in rhythm with his teammates and the offense. But they aren't going to be showing anything other than running basic stuff...don't expect much from the starting offense tonight.

Interesting article. I think the drop in averages is mainly due to the MM stagnation, injuries, and absolutely horrible guard play.

Please, someone show that article to Rodgers.

“I’m up for anything that’s gonna get the fans as loud as possible,” Rodgers said. “Maybe slash some beer prices or something, would be a good idea.”

Domestic beers were selling for $8.25 for a 16-ounce can at Lambeau Field last year. If Rodgers succeeds in his campaign to get those prices down, he’ll become even more popular in Green Bay.

The best method for improving crowd noise  at Lambeau, honestly?  It's keeping the oldest season ticket holders at home.

Before you start flaming, understand that my parents were season ticket holders.  It didn't matter how many times I explained the concept of the 12th to them, they simply didn't get it.  They were right there with their cronies yelling "Down in front!"

That problem has gotten a lot better with a new generation of season ticket holders, but the new generation presents an even worse problem: selling season tickets online for profit.  Unfortunately for us, Lambeau is a bucket list destination for fans of other teams, and that's where untold numbers of tickets end up.

I'm not sure what the solution for that could be.  Unfortunately for us also, Packer fans are nice people, with their priorities in order.  Everyone wants to come to Green Bay.  That's not something you can say about any of our division rivals, for example, or places like Oakland or Pittsburgh or Philadelphia.

Sign one of the richest contracts in league history and then campaign for lower beer prices?

Lol. Good one!

That play was made because of the speed, grace and agility of that amazing receiver.

One of my favorite Rodgers plays didn't even count. I believe it was against the Bears, Rodgers scrambles per usual all over the place as he's getting dragged to the ground he tosses the ball to the ends zone for a TD, but it was called back on a holding call. Brutal call on an amazing play. I couldn't find vid of the play I'm thinking of. Maybe someone else has a better memory of the play.

That was the perfect pass route for Janis. Sort of run downfield in a straight line, look back for the ball, run pretty much straight ahead for 20 yards, and then jump. No thinking and no need to read the defense to adjust your route.

Another thing about Rodgers on this one is that when he throws it Janis is on the 15. Janis maybe moves a couple of yards to his left in the next 20 yards, but essentially Rodgers hits him in stride.

Well said! The only thing I could add would be the shape of the stadium. It’s not like a soccer stadium, some domes or the Seahawks stadium which are actually designed to promote fan noise.

i don’t know about lowering the price of Beer, because I have had bad experiences with drunk fans. How about a no mittens policy? It makes the polite clapping a tad louder 😉

There is no problem with the shape of the stadium. The stadium used to be loud even before they built up the south endzone. Had some reporters tell me they couldn't even talk to each other on the sideline. People now are too busy playing with their phones and don't even pay attention to the game.

RE: Rodgers comment on slashing beer prices.

Watch the interview, he was not the least bit serious. And, I think he knew Florio and PFT would run with the "Rodgers promotes alcoholism" take.

Agreed (reply via my Android phone).

Agreed. Hard to clap and yell when your not paying attention......too busy posting your pic online to impress your friends and missing the world around you./ damn young people. Time for my nap !!!!

I have read articles that have described stadium design. High stands and overhead designs accentuate crowd noise. I actually like the classic design we have. And I agree that it can be loud when people try their best. I was just reporting what I read and thought that the so-called crowd noise of other stadiums was partly due to design.

I went with a friend who's an Eagles fan to a game at Lambeau a few years ago, and he couldn't believe how quiet it was. As far as atmosphere and history, there's no better stadium in the league. As far as energy and noise, it kinda sucks.

Agreed.  Lambeau Field is just not a loud venue.  Kind of a letdown to be honest.

They don't pipe noise in like Seattle or Minnesota's lame ass stadium.

I think Minnesota gets a boost in volume because I think they have microphones aimed at the roof of the Stapler to catch the resonant thumping the birds make when they fly into the glass panes.
