Renaldo Nehemiah could outrun them all.  Fat lot of good it did him.

Love this team but thought some contrarian opinions would be interesting!

Agree, "Phat" Eddie looks slow and ponderous. He looks like he has gained weight. I read that Eddie doesn't even like to watch football on TV. Perhaps he does in the film room but that may be his personal dislike for looking at ways to improve his run game. Also, R Rodgers looks bigger and slower too. That may help with his blocking but little else. I think this next game will show us more about these players.

Add in a bum ankle for Lacy and it takes a little longer to get into mid-season form

That's true but 6 weeks in and "Phat" Eddie has enough weight to get him through the winter. Still, he played at what looks like a lower weight on a bum ankle in seasons past with better results. I am not sure what R. Rodgers is playing with or at what weight.

Was Lacy fat last year? He didn't have a game over 20 carries until the 11th or 12th game, and through the first 10 games he ran for more than 70 yards once. His rookie year they rode him more with Rodgers out, last year and so far this year it looks like they are keeping balance which will make him fresher late when the running game is more a factor.

I hope you are right. And to my limited eye test he did not look as fat last year. He also seemed to be a bit quicker as well. I don't expect 70 yard runs just a bit quicker to the hole and a better cutback. ( In my opinion) Given the size of todays linebackers I think that a power run may not be as effective as it might have once been. Also, it may be game planned against us. Without the threat of Jordy other teams can key on that type of run.

When it comes to Lacy, I really think he is not 100%.  I think we'll see a different guy after the bye week assuming he doesn't do something this week to make his ankle issues get worse.

As for RichRod, he is what he is... a TE with very good hands and a pretty good feel for the passing game, but he will never be fast or quick.  He's good enough to win with if your WRs are playing well, but he's certainly never going to be good enough to be the focal point of a passing game like the Packers tried to do with Finley back in the '09-'10 seasons.

Sometimes a really good run defense can make you look fat.
