You know Johnny's serious about football and the new league when he throws an interception in the end zone, gets a teammate's knee upside the head trying to make a tackle, wobbles to the sideline and into the tunnel, and then returns to enjoy a snack of nachos on the bench while his teammates bust their butts on the field (and lose). Why do teams keep signing this guy?

I think teams keep signing this guy thinking that people are still interested in him.  I am sure there are still some that are but I think the majority just wants him to go away.

I can see a ESPN 30 for 30 special in about 15 years where he is interviewed in his house in Texas getting choked up about all the chances he pissed away.
