I know there have been threads on this before but have not seen one in a while.  I am thinking of bringing my daughter to our first game at Lambeau. She became a huge fan during the 2010 season and Super Bowl run, and has been asking me to bring her to a game ever since - she is a high school senior so this may be our last chance for some time.  I've been a fan since the days of John Brockington, so this has been on my bucket list forever.

Thinking of going to the Eagles game on November 10.  Wondered if the more experienced Lambeau visitors can offer some advice:

Where's the best place to get tix?  Is scalping legal in Wisconsin and can I count on getting tickets that way or should I go the StubHub route?

Best place to stay that offers reasonable rates?

Should I plan on flying into Green Bay, or are better flights available to Milwaukee or Appleton?

Is is better to piecemeal the trip by making my own flights, hotel reservation and getting tix from Stub Hub, or is there a trustworthy, affordable tour package available.

Many thanks for your help!

- You can always get tickets on game day from scalpers.  They are everywhere.

- Assuming you live in NY, I'd fly from NYC to Milwaukee.  Prices are pretty reasonable from my experience.

- I believe hotels in the GB area are booked a year in advance and have a two night minimum.

I guess if I were you, I'd book a hotel in Milwaukee for the weekend and fly in there.  Rent a car for the trip to Lambeau.  Your daughter can drive back to Milwaukee after the game if you have a few brewskis.  A win-win.

Here is my take, as far as tickets go. Like Pakrz said scalpers are every where so you can go that route. The game I to went back in 2011, aganst the Buccaneers, cost 87.00 from ticketmaster, the saturday before the game. The only other thing I would suggest is bring a seat cushion, those alumm. seats can get quite cold.

I'm actually on the road from Minneapolis to Green Bay to take my son to his first game. Getting tickets is easy since scalping is legal. There is an area cordoned off near the Hutson center if I remember right where there is a cop overseeing the scalpers. Since there is competition, market forces usually bring prices down especially closer to kickoff and I've always gotten really good seats. Even got playoff tickets for the San Fran game at 30 yard line under face value once.

I have family in Stevens Point, so I go the DET to CWA route often through Delta.  I am assuming you have no issue going from Rochester to DET.  I assume CWA is nothing special relative to other airports in the area, thus, I would couple your flight destination with other things you want to do.  CWA is a fully functional airport with plenty of rentals available. I wouldn't go to Milwaukee only because you think other areas are less reliable, although there could be more flights that way.

Getting a room in the GB area at this time is going to be pretty tough to do, as most book out within a day or so after the schedule comes out. Also, as mentioned, most require a 2 night stay minimum for game weekends, but not all. I think you can still get a list of local hotels/motels from the GB Chamber of Commerce website (or Better Business Bureau) with phone numbers etc. Plan on making lots of calls. Could get rooms pretty easy I think in Appleton/Neenah/Menasha only about 30 minutes away though. The visiting team always stays at a hotel in Appleton.

If possible fly into GB and avoid the pregame traffic on the freeways/roads leading into GB. Traffic is a bear coming and going.

There are always plenty of sellers scalping on the road between the Resch Center and Don Hutson Center and practise field (Armed Forces Drive?). Thats a designated legal area to sell tix. Also, may want to try Packer Fan Tours for tix ( I think thats what their called, I already tossed their pamphlet that comes with my season tix, but the GB Packer website should get you their info. I know they have package deals for Packer away games, dont know if they have package deals for home games. Some donate unwanted tix to the GB boys and girls club, as a tax writeoff, dont know how they sell or use them though as a money maker to help fund the club.

Probably wont be able to get a paid pass to park at the stadium. I always park at one of the business's on Potts that goes from Oneida to Ashland. Some of those places have porta potties and also allow tailgaiting,  other parking is near the stadium in peoples driveways/yards. More expensive the closer you get.

Most of all, just fricken do it, games at Lambeau are an awesome experience! Second the notion of bringing a seat pad or renting a seat back chair one for like $5 at the stadium if you get their early enough before they sell out. New rules this year on what can be brought into the stadium so find out beforehand whats permissable.

Lastly, a game at Lambeau is quite the exciting event from a cast of many thousands starting well before gametime outside surrounding the stadium and then the game itself and after at the nearby bars. You and your daughter will remember it forever. Just fricken do it.

Motels may be an issue.  I just reserved one for the Clev game.  Place I stay is only one night but still was $200.  Just for kicks I looked around at some others, most where $275 per night for two nights or more!

We used to stay right by Lambeau (Days Inn) for 2 nights at $150 per for 2 nights, but that was 7 years ago.  Now it's over 3 bills.  Craziness.  Guess you get what you can as a hotel.  The most ironic thing, the day after the same room was $70.

I'd look for a motel in Shawno. Lots of good places there and it's only about an hour northwest of Green Bay. I know several friends that have talked to Packers up there after games as it gets them out of Green Bay and away from most of the autograph hounds.

With the I43 bridge out over the Fox River and ongoing road construction I would also plan extra time to get to the stadium.   It seems like traffic this year is worse than normal so we try to take the back roads and city streets to get over that way (usually from the south and east).

There should be plenty of scalpers near Resch Center and as a few others mentioned that's generally the spot where people are trying to unload tickets and you usually don't get hassled in that area.   We've parked east of there and mosey our way toward the stadium while making some stops along the way.   There's usually live music and The Bar typically has a big outdoor set up.

Good luck!

Anyone have any suggestions on where to tailgate? We have 3 cars arriving at different times and are hoping to set up camp for at least 4 hours to grill, drink, and toss a football with the kids so not sure someones front yard would work. Prefer a large parking lot where we can really soak in the scene.

Go Pack

Yeah, here's some advice:   Come to the game on November 28th...not the 10th.

But in 2013...they played the Eagles on Nov 10th!  And lost.  Seneca Wallace started and was injured on the first possession, Scott Tolzien came in.  Was a Gold Package game too...

I don't know what it is about their hamburgers. I eat my beef medium rare at its darkest. Their patties are always well done because they're so thin.  I hate catsup.  But I could eat a half dozen of those things in a sitting if I had less risk for heart disease. Is it thecrispy hard roll? pat of butter? The only other burger on par is Mickey Lu's Bar-B-Q on Hwy 41 in Marinette. Very similar but their miniature flame grill in a tiny diner setting has a cachet that Krolls West lacks.

jelly,

i always park at 1762 S Ridge.  Great spot, family has a portapotty, also they fit in about 80-90 cars.  If the first car gers there early, sometimes the guy will let you save a spot.  They open early, just a great place.
