Of course, I'm all but positive that was the original battery, so 10-11 years of service is not a bad lifespan. I was told once that hot and cold weather drain batteries, so this latest warm spell likely pushed it over the edge.

It's not the heat, it's the humidity.

BREAKING:

Al discloses that he has used PED's.  Admits they didn't seem to help.

BREAKING:

Very well written piece, though his team has had weeks to do so.Does not mention the substance, though I assume one is synthetic testosterone. Not to disclose too much here, but I have been on this for a year plus, and while it has taken care of its prescribed purpose, eliminated some pain of an unknown cause, it hasn't made me a better athlete or helped me get over injuries (don't forget, a couple weeks ago I pulled a muscle in my back fastening my belt) any quicker. While it has medical purposes, so does cortisone.

I wonder how badly tall chairs kicked his ass before he started juicing...

It's nice to know that Al totally understands what Braun goes through every day.

I have linked and discussed Cassy (Fiano here, she writes under her maiden name and her married name Chesser as well) many times in the past. she gets some nice ink here.

The irony is, down syndrome is a very mild birth defect, and those that are afflicted with it are actually in demand in adoption circles because while some families have the time and money to handle a special needs child, many don't have a handicapable friendly home or the desire to provide such care for 18 years.

al is kind of like my father in law.  He doesn't require knowledge about a topic to talk like he has knowledge about a topic.   Nothing but love and admiration for those families raise a child with downs with love and affection, either through birth or adoption, but to characterize downs as mild is pretty ****ing dumb and far from ironic.  I shared this post with two families who are friends, both with a child with downs.  The both felt that despite deeply loving their child as much as a parent can, "mild" was just an ignorant (dumbass) thing to say.  They though the link was nice, so he's got that going for him.

was Al taking the cream or the clear?  Inquiring minds want to know

in the land of DerpMurica it's possible that standing and walking is considered a contact sport.   Might explain all the sweating involved at the battery shop.  We all know how physically demanding it is waiting for your car to get fixed so if you need an edge you need an edge

So now Al's physical pitfalls are the faults of belts, tall chairs, bad arches, not crapping all day and the sun.

So, I drove with my left arm out the window for about 45-60 minutes, and tonight, it's all itchy. I think I have looked it up previously and it is called "sun rash"...I get tiny bumps, almost like a rash, and it's really uncomfortable. It would go away after a few days if I ever got tan, but I don't. Mine isn't as noticeable the pic at the link, and it is related to the fact I don't tan in a couple spots (my left elbow being one).

And yes, an entire offense over an entire season is not a "small sample" per se, it is a bunch of small samples all added together.

I really haven't gained 50 pounds of fat.  I just gained one pound 50 times after eating 50 cans of lemon pie filling.  Ergo, I am not fat, I'm just a compilation of small weight gains.

See?  Science is easy.

I've missed Al's science takes:

Last night, we were told to expect anywhere from 8-12 inches of snow, starting early this morning...might get some rain just before the snow begins.

Now, almost 4PM...not a flake of snow or drop of rain yet. Forecast calls for "mixed sleet, snow, and rain developing by 5PM. Will change to all freezing rain by early evening, then becoming all snow overnight, 1-3 inches expected."

But you know what? They can, without a shadow of doubt, tell you it was a third of a degree warmer/cooler a century plus ago, and it's all the fault of the industrial revolution.

It didn't snow last night, therefore climate change = hooey.

I haven't checked in on our friend for a while.  Looks like he's been keeping up with his science reading...

I just read today that this is the coldest stretch in November in 130+ years.

Many see this as proof of climate change. If so, that would also mean we had climate change 130+ years ago.

{Actually, we did, many estimate a "mini ice age" ended in the mid or late 1800's, but let's ignore scientific facts for a sec, as we have bigger issues, such as made up weather facts.}

Weather changes. It's effected by the oceans, which are in turn controlled by the moon, which is, as many of us already realize, is clear out there in space. Other planets, the ones we look at through telescopes and all, have huge temperature swings in the same day, which is why they do not have life, as we know it at least.

Considering we live on a planet that had multiple ice ages, centuries and millenniums before the industrial revolution, you would think one would realize that temps ain't stagnant. Of course, if you had their record, you'd be trying to change the subject too.

Al or 99% of the world's scientists?  Hmm... Al or the entire science community?

I'm gonna need to think about that one.

Yes, Al.  Finding "an entirely new species" flies in the face of saying the industrial revolution has raised global temperatures 1/2 degree.  That's golden corral level reasoning.

If he would just vote for more destruction of rainforests he wouldn't have to worry about all those undiscovered species getting discovered and disrupting the delicate balance in his GI tract.  Moran.
