Well worth the ~10 minute watch.
WOW
Thanks for posting that.
Definitely has show more than MVS or JMon Moore
Hope he has a breakout year
Surprised that the guy doing the video didn't mention Moore being out of the league and St. Brown missing the season due to injury.
I've been on the Lazard bandwagon ever since I saw film of him at Iowa State. No doubt in my mind he will be our #2 WR.
Some twitter draft folks seemed convinced that Lazard probably would have been a much higher pick had he played for a bigger school like LSU or Notre Dame. I mean pre-draft I remember there was talk he was definitely a 4th/5th rounder, which I mean internet draft talk is never reality, but I think everyone recognized there definitely was/is real talent there. Geoff Schwartz was talking on twitter about how draft slot can basically determine your career direction, he was I think a 7th rounder and it took a lot to overcome the stigma of being a late round pick. If we take Lazard at face value, ignoring draft position, he looks like a Mike Evans clone with talent to be a legit starting WR. Sounds like he has the attitude to match, I expect him to take a big step being in the mix to get PT and to get opportunities to improve.
Weren’t people all giddy over Geronimo Allison too at first? Just saying
I really like Lazard but you never quite know how it'll all turn out (see: Boykin, Jarrett).
Loved Lizard from when he started in GB. It's just the way he carries himself and the attitude of "I can beat anyone." It's bordering on cocky, but he carries it well. He just seems to have sticky hands and use his body well, which are great traits to have when you're not the speediest guy on the line.
The dude who did the video has an excellent way of telling a story, as well. I don't regret my 10 minutes used.

Yeah, but his Twitter game was strong.
Stronger than Greg Jennings' sister's?
Seen with the rehab group for the first time today. That's a good sign!

I had this guy as the #2 WR for at least another season but if all the MVS hype is true then he's #3. Possibly lower depending on how they handle the slot position.
One of my favorite players on the team. All around great football player. Hines Ward but with size.
I think this season will hinge completely on the offensive line. IF they can pass protect at last year's level this offense could challenge history's best. They will build such leads that opponents will have to become 1 dimensional and set up a ravenous pass rush.
They were able to win the LOS vs. every team we played last year ....except one.

Agreed. And there could be a big difference between the first 6 games without Bakhtiari and the last 11 with him.
You mean the last 14 games.

I know ( I think ) he is under contract for this year but I sure would like to lock him up for a couple more. At least. Wonder why he wants to go to Denver?
where did you hear he wants to go to Denver?

Sorry I have no link. I read it on my phone the other day. I have Green Bay programed in my Google links. But I did read it.
I saw an article about Lazard and Denver on one of those dumb ass fan driven article sites. Never bothered to click on it. I know better.

I am learning !
There’s an article from Mile High Huddle/Fan Nation through SI.com that references our pal Mike Florio. According to Mikey, “some people believe” Lazard with get to UFA and sign with Denver because his pal Nat Hackett coaches there. Of course, he fails to recognize Lazard would be fifth fiddle behind Sutton, Hamler, Patrick and Jeudy. All while assuming Denver would even want to sign another receiver. Lots of dumbness by Mikey. But that’s expected.

If you could land a teaching job, you’d have time for that nonsense.
Don't you need a fancy piece of paper to be able to do that? Sounds like too much already.
I too read about Lazard to DEN. It was right after I wrote it on one of those dumb ass fan sites. I then tweeted it at Joe Arrigo. That's how Florio got it.

How does a guy who has me on ignore give a thumbs down to a post I made? It’s like, he really doesn’t have me on ignore!

I have the same issue B K. Can't send YaYA a PM because he has me blocked. But he sure seems to read my posts to give me thumbs down. God damn pussy.
You gotta give him credit, he just carries on booger eatin’ even when people see him doing it…that’s a guy who’s comfortable in his own skin.
.
Looking forward to seeing how Lazard is deployed for 2022. With Adams gone, there's more snaps available outside at the X wide receiver position.
However, there are parts of Lazard's game that MLF really depends on to make his run game go. McVay, Shanahan and MLF all want the big tough- guy type WR to help make their run games go. The idea behind it is tied to personnel packages and how the defense reacts to those personnel packages.
In this chart below, you'll note the frequency of each Defensive package based on the offensive personnel and how successful those packages were vs the offense.
So let's say you want to run the ball...do you want to face a base defense or a nickel defense ? You want to see Nickel, or better yet, dime
So if you are MLF, your best bet to see nickel or dime from the D is to put 3 WRs on the field ( 11 personnel = 3Wrs +1 Rb + 1 TE)
IF you put 12 personnel on the field with (2) TEs, the defense is going to match with base...and that hinders your running game.
So the way these coaches have solved that problem is by having a Big WR who can handle the dirty work and be very successful blocking. Not just " getting in the way" but actually blocking dudes. In some cases, these WRs are leading the RB thru the hole - and that's normally a fullback/TE job
So Lazard and his ilk count as a WR as far as the defense is concerned...but in reality they are playing more of a TE/FB role.
IF the defense calls their bluff and puts base defense vs 11, the offense will throw them out of the stadium. Its an interesting wrinkle in the cat vs mouse game
There's an excellent article at The Athletic talking about the change away from the little quick guys in the slot ( Cobb / Welker) to more stout guys like Lazard- and why some teams made that move
Lazard's size and skillset give AR and MLF a lot of freedom at the LOS to swap out run/pass on any play and it helps them get the defensive package they prefer to face.
