I think the Packers have had the best blocking WRs for quite a number of years, and that it was a necessary component of the plays they favored. What I call a 'depth receiver' like Lizard has to be willing to make those blocks, and I think he has been one of the best at it.
It seems this has been amplified with MLF's arrival, and given the picks and acquisitions made for his offense, it makes sense.

Remember the small controversy a few years back when teams were bitching about our WRs blocking before a receiver had made a catch? It blew over fairly quickly, but the Packers take advantage of that better than other teams.

To be fair, Frank Reich said that many teams still believe in the quick, shifty little slots, so it's not universal. And that makes it even harder on the defenses who now need one type of slot corner who can handle a Cobb...and another type who can handle a Lazard. If you put the 'little" slot CB's on Lazard - its over-  both in the run game and the passing attack.

That's why I think we'll see a committee at slot CB for GB this year:
Douglas, Savage, Alexander
