I thought Peppers had coverage on that play?
Peppers was initially incorrectly blamed by some fans and members of the media. Really excited to see the continuing development of both Randall and Rollins. TT really hit on both of them.
Apologizing for Dom? I don't apologize for anyone - unless of course it is my wife. If Dom is thick with MM he isn't going anywhere - unless of course MM goes first.
Are you saying Dom for head coach?
Joe Whitt Jr. would make for a nice promotion to DC one day...
Dom isn't the problem.
It's MM using September as his extended pre-season.

I agree. I just wonder why he has not been promoted before...perhaps another "assistant head coach in charge of something"
MM likes that title
Or maybe Whitt isn't DC material. Some guys are outstanding position coaches but don't cut it as coord's, some guys are outstanding as coord's but can't cut it as a HC, some guys are outstanding as HC, but can't cut it as the GM.
I think we all could list more than a few names, just from the Packers history, that fit the above.
I can't imagine how any team could know Whitt isn't DC material. He has a good rapport with his players and he's obviously a great teacher. That's almost always enough to get a position coach the chance to be a coordinator.
shut. up. quiet please. no more discussion on this. the intertubes have eyes.
Whitt hasn't been around the league that much and more often than not I think coaches tend to hire people they know. Most teams only give a coach 3 or 4 years and I don't think many coaches are willing to roll the dice on a rookie coordinator they haven't worked with. They either want people they've worked with (people they know will ) or with people who are well known around the league. Whitt spent 7 years coaching in college, 1 season in Atlanta during Bobby Petrino's disastrous 2/3 of a season (as Asst. DB's coach) and the rest of the time he's been in GB. I'm not saying that's the only qualifier for becoming a DC, but I think it's probably the biggest thing holding him back because yeah his resume in GB is great.
Whitt (or any Packers defensive coaches) isn't a hot commodity because Dom's defense isn't elite. The reason the Seahawk's staff was raided was because their defense was top tier. Similar to the Ravens defense when Billick was HC. If the Packers D is top 5 for a couple of years, teams around the league will take notice of the coaching staff.
Yet TT took notice of Mike McCarthy after a less than stellar debut as the OC of the 49'ers. Basically an OC UDFA.
Lucky lapfaller.
Thompson is an alien so that reference doesn't count.

More like McCarthy's resume as OC for the Saints had more to do with it.
I think McCarthy's personality and philosophy had more to do with it. Thompson spoke early on and has said many time since that he wanted someone he could work with who shared his philosophy for running a team. McCarthy was a gamble for TT, just liked Rodgers was. The '05 offseason and the '06 offseason TT showed balls of iron...lets two popular OL walk, drafts a QB with a beloved franchise QB on the roster, fires the HC, hires the OC from a crappy 49ers offense, and the rest is history.

If you refer to my post, the answer is no - I wasn't. I was thinking Dom would be gone too.
I have the solution.
When we win Superb Owl LI
Dom retires and the kvetching can continue over the new D coach.
Easy peasy!
I put kvetchup on my french fries.
