@BillHuberSI: LaFleur on the injuries: Barnes' looked pretty significant but avoided that, for some good news. Hopeful that Quay Walker will be available this week.

quay walker is an animal out there. he makes me
guys just get enveloped by him and are no more...forward progress is over. ish noice.
Packers will probably win.
Bears 28
GB 24
Bears are the youngest team in the NFL with no cap space. The offensive line has a rookie and two second year players starting. WRs outside Mooney are a mess and Cole Kmet has good, but unrealized potential. And none of it matters. If Justin can continue to improve the Bears will start next off-season with every draft pick and the most cap room in the NFL. Pace and Nagy did the Bears dirty but in one off-season of belt-tightening and a movement away from old, oft-injured underperforming players, Ryan Poles has the potential to flip this franchise around. It's exhilarating.
Fields is smarter and more talented than any other QB the Bears have ever drafted. I know it's not saying much, but it's true. If he can survive and thrive under Eberflus and Getsy, the world may be their oyster in 2023.
Bears D is still top 15. Keep an eye on J. Brisker (#9), Gordon (#6), Roquan and Johnson. A lot of young talent on that side of the ball.
Here's to no injuries and to the ass whooping the Packers desperately need. Lol!
Rodgers still owns them.

Another crushing Ok, ok, just a win. da bears 17 - GBP 35.
Minus the slop I do think Fields looked better. But we're comparing that to last year's carnival ride. One thing I did notice is there were several runs that went right up and through the niners' IDL. I don't know if that was CHI scheme/play call catching them on their heels or if they actually have some G's that can move bodies.
CHI will be better prepared for us this week than in the past. Getsy knows our O as well as anybody and just got pointers from MIN on how to attack our D. GB should be favored but I don't see this as the usual walk in the park that it has been.

@TomSilverstein: In other #Packers injury news, CB Keisean Nixon, who left the #Vikings game with a shoulder injury, didn't suffer anything serious, a source said. Nothing that would keep him out an extended period of time.

Would not be surprised if Caleb Jones is coming up Xpt and FG attempts. LaFleur and B said the line was still a little leaky Jones is a big guy to get around or go through. Might help on goal line as well (not that Goalline).

After 1 week, the #Packers special teams are 16th in DVOA so I assume the Rich Bisaccia statue construction will begin immediately.

Still makes no sense that #8 is the punt and kick returner...
Staff may feel there's no better option on the roster than Rodgers. Zero offensive snaps was telling and the team didn't move up in the third looking for a relatively mediocre ST player.

I don’t expect that they would have much success if Fields decides to run up the middle. However, he could get yards if he gets out of the pocket. But that’s true for any running QB against our defense. I just hope that we don’t overthink and overreact to Sunday’s loss by loading up on DB’s in a dime defense.

Cobb is sure handed. That's all I'm asking for at this point. That said, it's not like we have a better option at WR on the PS right now.. sooooo.
OBF, I'd like to know your thoughts on the (probable? likely?) move to Arlington Heights, new stadium, and so forth.
Do you think it will take new ownership to make all that happen? Somebody actually not in the Halas/McCaskey family?
Back to the game, the Packers are the better team... on paper.
But injuries (already) and young players will tend to equalize things.
Packers defense and rushing attack should dominate. Fields will be the biggest danger from the Bores. If he can extend plays, escape pressure, and/or break containment, he will deal the Packers defense some misery.
I expect a typical Central Division, black-and-blue battle. They always are.
With a win, the Packers will tie the Bores for all-time wins (783). I expect to be much further ahead by the end of this season....
Packers 24
Bores 20
I think the move to Arlington makes so much sense. Bears would own it and make so much more $. They could control the "flow" of events unlike now where everybody and their Mom uses SF. A new stadium district will launch the value of the Bears into the stratosphere and then we will finally see the family sell it. And I'm happy about that.
Yes, it will be sad to see the Bears move. I'm sure they can't take anything with them as SF will live on but we all know how bad that stadium and field is. It's owned by the city. It's time to take a page from the Cowboys, 49ers and others and build a complex. With the amazing renovations made at Halas Hall I'm hoping that continues and the new stadium will be chock full of history and all that jazz.
And in the end the Bears will still SUCK!

Question for you. My brother in law lives not far from where the Bears will build the new stadium and while the site is huge do they have the roads to get fans in and out of there? It seems to me that they would have to build roads as well.
I know I am for this move because I could walk to the new stadium and not have to pay for a downtown hotel.
Something as large as the Arlington track redevelopment would certainly require some infrastructure adjustment and/or new construction. It's not unusual and wouldn't be seen as an obstacle for the move. There is also an existing commuter rail line within walking distance that would serve a lot of fans that would come from downtown and surrounding neighborhoods.

There's more infrastructure at the Arlington plot already than there is at Lambeau. Also keep in mind the stadium will likely be small. Rumor is mid-high 60k, which is about 15,000 less seats than Lambeau has. And the Arlington race track could already house more than 40k people. They'll probably change some of the flow for where they're considering to put the parking lots, but it shouldn't really present a problem or any drastic changes.
seeing how 9 was open quite a bit, 12 needs his therapist to allow throws > 1 time when he drops one (or 2)...we need to push that connection, the guy is open quite a bit.
9 (and others) may have been open a lot, but were they where they were supposed/expected to be?
We all know how Rodgers can describe (to a tee) a play from back in '09 or some such, so I'd expect when he plays it's somewhat robotic/instinctual. I also expect he knows this and knows he may need to r.e.l.a.x. a bit in this regard.
"It looks like a sugar cube mounted on a national mall".
While the Chicago Bears did not unveil any new renderings of their proposed stadium in suburban Arlington Heights during a public meeting Thursday, they did provide an important detail, saying that the roof of the facility will likely be permanently in place.W
During the Q & A session at the end of the meeting, Bears President Ted Phillips cited the costs and maintenance of a retractable roof when saying that the team is planning to have a permanent structure in place.
“We’re not anticipating a retractable dome,” Phillips said. “The costs are prohibitive. The return (on investment) isn’t there.”

So that means La-la--la-Lambeau Field will be the ONLY stadium in the NFC Norris that will be outside.
I can't imagine any of the Lombardi/Ditka/Bud Grant era generation (those who are still alive) are fucking happy seeing 3 out of 4 teams playing indoors and in controlled climate. The dead ones are probably rolling over in their graves.
Allen Lazard will practice today. He missed the opener with an ankle injury. #Packers need their WR1 back as soon as possible.

Matt LaFleur on if Zach Tom is in contention for a starting spot: “Yeah, absolutely. I think that’s gonna be something that we’re gonna look at game-to-game.”

Heading up to Mecca this weekend. Can't wait!
Packers 27 - Bores 10.
Fine, but Jones needs way more than 8 touches..
Matt LaFleur says having only 2 RBs on the 53 affects how much he can play Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon together: "I think we're mindful. I wouldn't say we're limited, but you don't want to wear them out."
— Ryan Wood (@ByRyanWood) September 14, 2022
Don’t have the numbers, but it sure seemed like Dillon had considerably more reps/touches than Jones. Wouldn’t that fit in the definition of wearing one guy on out as opposed to splitting reps/touches more evenly???
Dillon had more, but not like a ton more. IIRC correctly I believe it was 19 combined. Many think with no Adams, Jones and Dillon should have like 18-20 EACH per game. I don't think that's crazy.
BTW, where is hell Amari Rodgers? Was nowhere to be found on offense. You would at least in some jet sweeps./end arounds/screens they could use him. He looked decent in that way in KC in preseason
AmRodgers is pretty close to being a bust. He could be useful on a sweep. But my guess is that the defense would expect that. They did not expect that from the guys we used Sunday. Also, I hope that the team is not expecting him to fill in at RB. With only two on the roster my guess is that would be his role if one were to get hurt. Ugh.

Two of the best five are injured. Tom may be light in the pants but he is better than Hanson and should, at least, be getting reps over Hanson as the backup center. Maybe start at guard as well. I believe that the main reason for keeping Hanson is his ability at center. That’s often a lock. Otherwise I see no reason for him on a game day roster.
