I hate to say it, but this team would be better off if they lost the rest of their games this season.

This is the weirdest logic, someone else said this in the game thread. Why would a fan ever want their team to lose? I don't care what it means in terms of draft position or personnel changes, win the fukking games. Period.

It's like wanting your loved one who is a drug addict to hit rock bottom.  It sucks watching it but you know it needs to happen for them to get better,

Drink up, Mike.

I want MM gone.   He has mismanaged the staff and lost the team.   It started with holding onto Slocum for years when we were consistently in the bottom tier of the league.   It took an embarrassing collapse in the NFCC to finally make a move and his answer is Zook?

He is showing the same unwillingness to adapt or recognize failure in Capers.   How many years do we have to suffer through pathetically coached defense before he makes a move?   We are about 3 year past where a lot of other coaches would have made a move and do you really trust him to make the right call if he does pull the trigger?   I don't.

Sartori, good call from my previous post.  I would be in favor of Wolf being the new GM, but mainly because I know who he is and I respected what his dad did.  I don't know anything about the rest of the front office other than Ball.

GD, I'm not saying I'll enjoy them losing, but mabye this team needs the advantage of drafting in the top 10.  It's no guarantee they'd draft a superstar, but it seems like it's more likely than limping into the playoffs and drafting at #24ish.  It's kinda like chemo, the treatment sucks, but in the end it may be the best chance to get better.

Forgot to mention this, but did anyone else catch MM's comments regarding "missed opportunities"? In referring too our lack of forcing turnovers, he cited the sack by Perry as an example of an opportunity that they practice daily, emphasis, but Perry did just not get it done. Similar to the ball that Peppers batted into the air. Defense is just not m making plays when the opportunity presents itself.

I like your analogy there.

Winning the division at 7-9 or 8-8 might be a temporary "feel good" story, but it might actually be a detriment in terms of re-building this team to reach World Championship caliber.  In 2014 when the Pack was borderline World Championship caliber, the strength of the team was Jordy Nelson, Aaron Rodgers, Randall Cobb, Clay Matthews, Julius Peppers, and Eddie Lacy.

Since that time Nelson has hit age 30 and had a significant injury.  Cobb also received a big contract, has had many nagging type injuries and declined a bit from a career year.  Matthews is a shell of himself.  Peppers is basically done.  Lacy in 2014 was a very good complement to the passing game, but the last year and a half he no longer is someone you can count on as a future building block.  Even the 1 thing that nobody thought could ever happen.... Aaron Rodgers after having won an MVP in 2014 now looks human as he approaches middle age.

Maybe the Pack can "rebuild on the fly" if they win an awful division this season, but I am not so sure they can do it without the benefit of at least 1 draft where they are picking high.  Maybe by taking a step back, they can then move 2 steps forward.
