Badgers always have the let down game where they lose to some shitty team like Illinois.
I was going to drive over and see that game. Glad I didn't.

Punt on 4th and 2 from the 34?
Turning point in the game.
Impressed with Chryst going for it (3? 4th down conversions) and Coan stepped up too. I hope Bucky can make it a game in Indy. What bowl do we get?

From what they said on the broadcast yesterday, the highest ranked Big Ten team NOT in the playoffs gets the Rose Bowl, so the crappy thing is if the Badgers lose to Ohio State it means Penn State probably gets the Rose Bowl. Voters won't keep Bucky ahead of PSU.
Minny had a nice little run, pffffffffffffffft. Goofers.

My first intro to Fleck was the pregame speech to his Western MI team before the Cotton Bowl and I was like, 'what is this shtick?' Note that Western MI team almost upset Bucky,
However, after living up here and seeing him in interviews, on the radio, etc. I believe the 'shtick' is not for everyone but genuine.
It is also a 'shtick' that appears to be working...

Hmmm, Bucky was 13 and PSU was 12. Bucky blows out a top 10 team on the road and PSU sleepwalks through a lackluster win over Rutgers. Methinks that should put Bucky ahead of PSU but I do see your point.

CB - I meant if the Badgers lose to O$U in the title game next week. Will the voters penalize WI for the loss or keep them ahead of PSU??
Everybody else knew what you meant.
Maybe not Goldie

I have to wonder though if eventually that shtick will get old? I mean seriously you are going to say row the boat to adult men? What's with sprinting down the field with your team after the 3rd quarter?
I wish I could find the tweet but apparently Fleck is telling everyone that the Goofers are Big Ten west Co-Champs. You ignorant ass you lost the game you are NOT a co champ.
The thing is he is coaching a revolving door of kids and young men. I agree that is an approach that the GenX + generations don't get but all reports are that (most) of the younger generation(s) relate to it. I kinda look at it as a 'rebooted' version of Pete Carroll. By the way, that is the program (USC) I could see him moving to if the success continues.
As far as the co-champs things goes, the Big Ten is full of stuff that does not make sense and I guess technically they are co-champs since they have the same record. I agree that I wouldn't be touting that however…

I see Auburn is behind Bucky and PSU with three losses in the latest poll. Auburn has the #1 strength of schedule in the country and plays in the SEC so I guess that surprises me a bit.
Logic says that since WI should not be penalized by having to play another game but I suppose that could be the case.
One thing I am afraid of is OSU running up the score to get the potential #1 seed like 2014, that could be the nail in the coffin between Pasadena and a 'who cares' bowl.

Soon enough, the goofer players will find that PJ is lying to them. Another Minnesota team watching the Championship game from home. I'll bet Fluck makes it onto the viking staff sometime soon. Maybe he'll be considered as HC, if Zimmy gets canned.

I also am afraid that OSU will run the score up on UW just to make that statement (as if they really a statement) so they can wrap up the #1 seed. Which leads me to a thought. What advantage is there between being #1 and being #4? I guess it would mean the difference in playing a team like Utah instead of Clemson or LSU.
There is absolutely an advantage to being the #1 seed because it’s very possible you avoid having to play Clemson or LSU in the semifinal game. You think O$U would want to play both of them (potentially) to win the title? Clemson and LSU have the athletes and QBs and offense to match points with the Suckeyes.
As for Fleck, seems to me you either love him or hate him. I’m in the latter camp. He sure seems to like mugging the cameras for attention - whether it’s body surfing in the locker room or running onto the field with the players. What was shocking to me was the whole renting out the ax thing. No wonder UW players and coaches were so pissed off. I mean, it’s not the Stanley Cup and who does that shit?
But I guess he does. His presser after the game was all about him and MN not making enough plays. No mention of how well UW played or how well they were prepared. Now he’s touting Minnesota as co-Big Ten West Champs?
Just like our own former (meathead) coach Bert Bielema people will put up with the antics and front running behavior as long as you are winning big. The tide will turn in a hurry once you don’t and he’ll be rowing his ass out of Minnesota onto the next desperate program seeking his brand of snake oil. Paging Arkansas?
Fleck and the Goofers lost the game that decided who the BIG 10 West Champions are. There is no "Co- Champs" bs! Bucky stands alone as BIG 10 West Champs. Fleck, his Goofers, the rest of Minnesota and the Goofers easy schedule, can get over it. Once again, a Minnesota team chokes in a Championship game! This time, instead of purple, the smear on the field is maroon colored.
Fleck was Coach of the year as voted by the coaches. The Ohio State guy won the writers vote. I guess the coaches just hate O$U.
That’s amazing
Ryan Day took over for a legendary coach and they didn’t miss a beat. Heck, this might be the best Ohio State team in my lifetime.
Fleck is the flavor of the month much like Jeff Brohm was a couple of years ago at Purdue. Time will tell if he has staying power but I would have voted for Day and yes I hate O$U.
I agree this may be the most complete OSU team I have ever seen and that is saying something for all of their success. As many of you know I live smack dab in the middle of OSU country so I see all of their games. Ryan Day is a real class act coaching that team and he is making it harder to hate them as much as I do.
I would have voted for Day as well he has done a heck of a job taking over for Urban and not missing a beat. Fleck? good year but honestly they didn't play anyone.
Minnesota did play a few good teams. Got worked by Wisconsin, close win against Penn State, close loss against Iowa but honestly that game was never in doubt.
Gophers avoided Michigan, O$U, Indiana, and Michigan State. Also got to play Rutgers and Maryland that were awful teams.
Squeeking out wins against Fresno State and Georgia Southern doesn’t exactly help build your case as a good team.
Had the Goofs played a tougher schedule they are probably more like an 8-4 team than 10-2. Still a solid season, but middle of the pack in the Big Ten.
