Not only no points but they get very few minutes from their bench. They simply have no depth. A guy like Klesmit should be about 8th man on the depth chart and today he played 39 minutes. The entire bench played 32 minutes and it would have been much less if Hepburn hadn't sat for 16 minutes with fouls in the 1st half.

Klesmit played AAU with my nephew on a t team in the Fox River Valley. He went to Wofford to begin with because he was a guy who would start and play big minutes there, but would only be a bench player in the Big 10.

Incidentally, my nephew plays for Macalester, a D3 school in Minnesota and averages about 22 a game there and shoots about 38% from three. Having streamed a few of their conference games, there are probably about 8-10 guys in that D3 conference that could come in and provide better minutes than what the Badgers have on their bench right now. I'm sure the same is true for some players in the WSUC.

The difference yesterday is that Hepburn hit a big 3 point shot in the final minute of a tie game. If you look at all the games they lost that one big shot was missing at the end of games. They had so many winnable losses that they didn't finish by making the big play. Even yesterday they kept the Gophers in the game with a couple missed FTs and a ridiculous turnover in the final minute.

I mentioned it before but how many guys do the Badgers have that were even offered scholarships to the UW coming out of HS? Davis got one because of his brother and the jury is out and may never come in on Hodges and Liver. So if you look at the rotation it's Essegian, Hepburn, Wahl, and Crowl. This team is talent poor and could have really use a 6'9 tree trunk to give them minutes in the paint and a 6'6 swingman that can create his own shot.

It used to be the cut off for a major conference school getting into the NCAA tournament was a 500 record in your conference. That Michigan loss may be what keeps them out.

My comment to her meant that an NCAA bubble team is a shoo in as a NIT team.  To say the are not good enough for the NIT is just crazy.  Or  really hopped up.
