One thing I've noticed today. In the past the Badgers were never as fast as other top teams outside the Big Ten. That is no longer the case. Whether O or D, Badgers can keep up with almost anybody, speedwise. Or Miami is really slow.
Be nice for them to score here......and Matt just said they will have won 5 bowl games in a row so that’s pretty cool.

Lots of big questions going into 2019. Here’s hoping they get good answers for all of them...
They still did not execute well at times (see red zone INT and two easy missed FG attempts) but that’s probably the best defensive effort of the season. Same with the OL.
Miami looked a bit disinterested but a win is a win and that may have been Wisconsin’s best overall game of the season. Good way to end on a high note instead of the shit show we saw against the Goophers.

Good win by Bucky and they played fast and aggressive which I loved to see.
I think there will be some questions particularily at Qb to answer as well as turnover on the OL, and a young defense. But, I do think this team has really really good talent and it they can not pee down their legs in big spots and stay healthy I think 2019 could be special.
Wait, I think the announcers just said Miami's defense was keeping them in it.
Good thing the Badgers didn't need a QB for this game. It was Barry Alvarez football, just ground and pound. The OL just took it to them. The defense should have went to the Miami sideline to get the turnover chain.

2019 starts off at South Florida (7-6 record, not a gimmie game). Cross overs are home vs Michigan ( 1st conference game and 3rd overall game of the year), Michigan State, at Ohio State
They also get Iowa and Northwestern at home. Goophers on the road to close out the season. Revenge will be sweet in that game.
The 2019 season is a critical one to see where the trajectory of the Badgers team is long term. Paul Chryst will be here for a long time. The question is whether the team becomes more like an Kirk Ferentz Iowa team or more of a legitimate consistent NCAA playoff candidate.
Ferentz has won more than 8 games in a season once this decade (12-2 in 2015) and other than that season has gone 58-44 during that period.
Paul Chryst has been 10-3, 11-3, 13-1, and 8-5 during his 4 years.
Are the Badgers going to be the team that wins double digits almost every year and gets to a tier one bowl game almost every year? Or are they going to be a program that typically wins 7-8 games year, plays in a mediocre bowl game, and has a great year once in a while?
The key thing is the QB position. The Badgers lost one game this year mainly because Jonathan Taylor fumbled multiple times against Northwestern and he did get the carries they need from him to win. The other 4 losses involved the QBs going 51-91 for 135 yards per game with 3 TDs and 8 interceptions. With average QB play, the team this year is probably at least 10-3.
Is Mertz going to be the guy long-term? If not, I don't see Hornibrook or Coan being a guy that is going to get them double digit wins.
Hornibrook should not play again. Having that concussion problems this long is not good for his long term health. Coan just doesn't have it.
