Remove Bart Houston's name from the list right now.  If the guy couldn't get his name in the Stave/McEvoy mix then he is terrible.  By the time it got into the Big 10 schedule it was pretty clear that Andersen was not happy with the QB situation at all.  Houston had the entire year to work himself into the QB mix and by year's end there still was not one peep coming out of the coaching staff that gave him any chance of playing meaningful minutes.  The only logical conclusion that one could draw from this is the guy can't play Big Ten football.

Driskel is interesting but at this point I'd classify him as being more of a Danny O'Brien or Allen Evridge rather than a Russell Wilson.  Florida's offense has been a mess but he's definitely been a part of that.  I think they were a better team after Driskel got benched.  But if Gillins can't play, and the coaches should have an idea about that, then Driskel might be the best option.  The strangest part of seeing Driskel in a Badger uniform would be the whole Driskel/Brissett situation in 2011.  It's really a shame that Brissett elected not to come to Wisconsin because from a football standpoint it would have been a perfect situation for him.  There is really no question that he would have been at least a 3-year starter here and certainly would have carried a much higher profile on the national landscape than he does now.

But Wisconsin would have to be one of the most attractive spots from Driskel's perspective.  They have a head coach coming in that has a great offensive reputation, there would be the Russell Wilson factor and he probably wouldn't have to view very much game film to feel confident that he could beat out Stave for playing time.  I really couldn't imagine many other schools being more attractive to him than Wisconsin.

There are also some rumors of Braxton Miller being interested in Wisconsin but I don't see that happening.  I know both he and Ohio State have recently said that he won't transfer but I think chances are pretty good that he will...I just don't think he'd transfer to Wisconsin (will look at spread offenses rather than a pro-style offense).  But if he had some resentment and wanted to try to stick it to the Buckeyes, then Wisconsin would be a good option for him.

This doesn't apply to 2015, but maybe the following year?

Houston QB John O'Korn has listed Wisconsin as one of his top five schools for a transfer possibility.  O'Korn was the AAC's rookie of the year in 2013 when he threw for 3117 yards and 28 TDs, but he struggled at the beginning of 2014 and was benched.  He lists Wisconsin with Syracuse, Florida, Texas and Miami.  He would have to sit out 2015 and would be eligible for two seasons after that.

I wonder what Kafentzis thinks of this?  There were rumors (take 'em for what they are worth) that Andersen would not promise him that he'd be Oregon State's only quarterback recruit for the 2015 class, and that was a major factor in why he stuck with Wisconsin.  Now just a couple weeks after he's signed his letter of intent and is enrolled, there is a second QB in Wisconsin's 2015 class.

Kafentzis is a good prospect but IMO has been over-rated by the Wisconsin media.  I can't blame Chryst for going with another QB possibility.  Between Gillins, Kafentzis and Hornibrook, hopefully they will end up with one solid starter down the road.
