+ The Bears are a trainwreck. The Packers drove right through that wreck and scattered the debris everywhere.
- We don't get a chance to play against Trubisky and that putrid Bears Offense more than twice a season. You could see vs. the Vikings, even with Foles in there, their offense is as bad as it gets in the NFL right now.

Rodgers wasn’t touched by the Bears tonight. Reminiscent of the first few games- if they’re keeping him clean, he destroys teams.
Liked seeing ESB getting some run in. They need him.
MLF was all over the Bears defense tonight.
Packers now with the ability of sending TEs deep is a dangerous thing for this offense.

- The only way the Pack's D becomes championship caliber is if the organization brings in both a new coordinator and someone into the front office from the outside who recognizes defensive talent. We need to eradicate all vestiges of whatever the philosophy has been on defense for the past decade, because it has not worked in the past and is not working presently.

Prevent defense to end the first half prevent offense in the 2nd half, letting bears score 25....Lafleur needs to grow some balls
+ I did like that they went for 4th down conversions, that was a little ballsy. Both Jones and Williams ran hard and very effectively, AR was fantastic, O-line was excellent both run block and pass pro. Savage, Smith Bros, Gary all had moments. D looked good most of first half...
- save for the gawd awful, weirdly spaced 3 man front that Montgomery exploited for 60 yards. 2nd half D was wimpy as usual. Several injuries. King dropped easy pick. Bears are cocky, mouthy bitches and STILL SUCK!
Not the division dagger yet, but the large lady is warming up. Still a legit shot at the 1 seed. Tennessee is the remaining game that is going to be a bastard.

Offense. Fantastic job by MLF and the OL and really the entire offense. Wouldn't surprise me if they let Linsley walk and go with the lineup we saw for most of the game. Only really minor negative was a bit of a sloppy game from Adams.

Defense. Pretty good night for Preston Smith and Savage but the defensive issues remain. Bears have a reasonably more competent QB and the it's a much different game. Good to see MLF not happy with the way they finished.

+ 91,52 (I get the affecting the qb thing, he is always pushing into the pocket, at least), secondary - they got roasted a couple times, but overall good.- still didn't find out about ST, I kind of like the idea of bringing in austin and cutting 82, experiment is over
+the alignment on d seems to have been adjusted to put some pass rushers on the field. i thought they got good pressure all night.
- still not sure about the ilb spot, I don't trust 58 at all.
I thought the Raiders picked the Bears because they assumed their draft pick would be lower?
Positives:
Any win over the Bears is a good win. I will take a 2-0 score or 48-0 it doesn't matter just beat them. I will say I STILL want revenge on the Bears for that 61-7 beatdown in 1980.
Play calling was very good. I really am liking MLF offense it balanced and seems to be clicking.
Another positive to me is that by the sounds of it the Packers know they have issues on the defensive side of the ball and MLF is not happy about it.
Negatives:
It isn't good to allow the Bears to score as much as they did in the 4th quarter. I know it was pretty much exhibition football at that point but you can't let them do that.
Minor albeit notable plus:
Propers to a number of Packers for not taking the Bears cheap shot bait. Especially liked how AJ responded to getting pushed by some chump Bears defender after a solid run. He "retaliated" by cleaning some turf out of said chump's helmet.

Boris, those breakdowns of the MLF offense show it is night and day from what MM was doing at the end. Hopefully MLF keeps adjusting and bringing in more concepts as he is here.

Lucas Patrick left the game with a toe injury. If both he and Linsley are out that leaves GB pretty thin up front...
Also thought it odd MVS didn't see the ball last night. Adams was a bit sloppy and danced a lot after the catch. Hope Lazard is OK, jeesh. Good to see ESB get going but he is no Lazard.
It would have been a lot tighter vs a real offense. Trubisky to Mooney was frustrating. King will always have problems with guys like Mooney. He caught 2 passes in a row on King and then King must have been pulled off of him for the rest of the night.
The worst or most frustrating thing about watching this D is their tackling, especially vs run. That long one by Montgomery looked like a pick up game on the playground. Three guys surrounding him like it was a track meet running down the field and nobody wanted to tackle him. Like watching Sharper?/Ed McCaffrey all over again.
As much as I pound sand about LB's while watching guys like Roquan play, he nearly disappeared without Hicks in front of him. We have our Hicks in Clark but he desperately needs a legit partner on the DL.

+++ Our O Line is amazing. Going into the season, the O Line was a major concern, for me. Now we have plug and play players who don't miss a beat, wherever and whenever they play. Elgton has got to be the best draftee from that draft we got him in. Preston finally woke up, as did Savage. Gotta love that! Aaron Jones and Jamaal Williams are speed through the hole and a bulldozer at the RB spot. I hope we can keep them both. Rodgers finding WRs other than Davante. ESB and Lazard in particular. This team looked like it was having fun, last night. We negated Cordarelle Patterson, for most of the night. No big plays from him on STs or on offense. Our TEs were huge in this game. Love the Big Dog, Sternberger and Tonyan!
--- Allowing the Bears to score like they did in the 2nd half. I wish this team would get a "killer instinct" and bury teams. No Mercy! It seemed the Bears could get 10 yards, or first downs whenever they needed them, then Trubiscuit would turn the ball over to us. Refs did not catch 2 facemask penalties, in the same play, on Trubiscuit. That's all Packers foes will talk about for the next week. The Bears suck, not only because of their play, but because how they acted in the final snap of the game where they crashed the LOS as Boyle attempted to take a knee.

I concur on that. Ahman did have very good vision but that was an elite OL designed and adept at opening up the cut back holes for Ahman and Ahman hit them like a cannon ball and he was gone. I don't recall the quality of the OL back then but Ivery had to pick his way through holes in a more conventional blocking scheme. Traps, counters, etc.
Jones has a very interesting combination of being able to hit a hole and go, or be patient for holes to open late and then pick through them with deceptive power, although without elite top end speed. You don't see Jones break a long one to the house as often as you saw Ahman do it but he seems to more consistently get chunk yardage or something out of nothing.

Yeah it was a win, and the O was outstanding at times, but Mitchee did his D no favors by repeatedly gifting us the ball back.
They were also without their best run stopper Hicks...those big holes for 33 and 30 are probably not as plentiful with him in there. Yes, we had a drop off when Linsley went out, but Leeeeroy at C and Runyan at OG isn't a huge drop off...especially now that both have real game experience together in those spots.
People like to point out how hard Gary works to get to the QB and though he doesn't always get there, he "impacts the play." But then we see him half-assing it. He strikes me as one of those guys that only works hard when he thinks someone is watching, and for most of his career, being so much more physically gifted than everyone, it was worked for him.
The win was marred by the same thing we have seen all season...the defense just not being very good. This D is serviceable when they are getting turnovers. They are not going to face Mitchee every week, therefore, they will be on the field a lot vs veteran QB who can protect the ball. They give up to many chunk plays in the middle of the field. ILB are always out of position and make few if any impact plays.
The play design on the Bob! TD pass. Just a great concept and design that MLF definitely picked up from Shanahan beating them with it last year.
Watch Adams just kinda slow down and draw in 3 guys around him and then also getting a 4th(!) - Kyle Fuller - creeping up just a step or two right before the pass was thrown.

You HAVE to keep adjusting & continue being dynamic with the offense -- If anyone has proven that over the last 2 decades look at Belichick -- None of this "we do what we do" bullshit.
They hung 34 on that Bear defense - granted it was without Hicks - but that was the most they've given up all season (Packer defense scored a TD).

The biggest positive, outside of the obvious skill position stuff, was Elgton Jenkins. You lose the top rated center in football this year early in the game and a guy that has lined up at LT and guard this year moves over to center and nothing changes. Has he even had a below-average shotgun snap playing there? He's phenomenal. Runyan has contributed as much as anyone in this draft class (he and K. Martin have arguably made the only contributions from this draft class) and he's a guy that is never going to dominate, but he's good enough to win with.

It looked like the Packers’ middling run defense threatened the team’s chances to win when David Montgomery ripped off a career-high 57-yard gain on the Bears’ first possession of the game. Instead, Matt Nagy stayed away from him until it was too little too late in spite of the fact Montgomery racked up 90 total yards from scrimmage on eight touches through the first two quarters. The second-year pro could have exploited a real weakness in the Packers’ defense — forcing their linebackers to cover out in space. Christian Kirksey struggled in particular, and Trubisky completed 9-of-10 passes against the veteran for 82 yards and two touchdowns on first review.
This doesn't even factor in the DPI call that set up the TD, but another way to look at it is this.
Trubisky when targeting Kirksey: 140.2 QB rating
Trubisky on all other throws: 17 for 36, 159 yards, 1 TD, 2 interceptions, 45.9 QB rating.
That's some next-level atrociousness by Kirksey and doesn't even factor in his run defense. First, this is Mitch Trubisky. Second, David Montgomery and Kmet are solid guys (kind of equivalent to Jamaal Williams and Tonyan), but they aren't All-Pros. If Kirksey can't at least offer some resistance against a poor QB and a decent RB, what's he going to do against guys he could potentially see in the playoffs (Kamara, Dalvin Cook, Jones).
Kirksey got 6 million this year and counts 8 million to keep next year and 2 million in dead cap space to cut. He's gone. And while Blake Martinez at 10 million a year is ridiculous, it's absolutely criminal that they didn't sign anyone else at this position in free agency and decided it was more important to draft the 2022 QB, a third-string RB, and a thrid string TE this year with the picks from the first 4 rounds than get a LB.
Kirksey is HORRIBLE!

Stat that I still can’t wrap my head around. Rodgers threw 300 TDs before 100 INTs and became the first QB in NFL history to do it.
Rodgers might throw his 400th TD this Sunday before his 100th INT.
He’s currently at 397 - 88.
I’ve never seen a better QB.
