That post is spot on Chili. I didn't put it in the predictions thread, but the first half of this game was very predictable.  Credit to the whole team for pulling it out after halftime.

I don't care who you are playing, wins are hard earned in this league.

That second half felt like a springboard for both the offense and the defense. Special teams too. The Bears are going down.

DOUBLE POST Y'ALL, WHATEVER YOU AIN'T BAD:

I'd wait before betting it though. Spread is at -7.5, but against Chicago, I'm confident it will go down. It always does with them. Fibs bet big. Or the mob or whatever.

+

Kendricks  Big play to open second half and presently a more reliable receiver than Bennett.

Geronimo Huge to end the game and in OT.

Josh Jones  Just makes plays and needs to stay on the field

Second half defense, although Dalton did miss a few open receivers.

AR and Jordy Made the plays when it mattered

-

Really bad first half on both sides of the ball

Monty Can't really fault him too much for lack of production in the running game but his pass pro was bad.

MM seemed slow to adjust to Murphy's struggles in the first half.

Bottom line: need to win these types of games at home for any realistic shot of decent playoff seeding and the Packers got it done.

+ 2-1 The Packers are known slow starters.

- They could just as easily be 1-2 or 0-3 but for a solid D performance against Seattle.

+ the D is only allowing the opposing O's ~ 20ppg, the rest are from two costly offensive turnovers.

- the D is allowing 20ppg. But the Packers O should be able to hang at least 24 on any defense.

+ it is early, they are 2-1 and they tend to improve as a season goes on., they never fade down the home stretch of the season.

- the Vikings D looks pretty good, the Lions are 3-0 and the Bears are not the pushovers everyone wants to think they are.

If not for a few bad bounces against Atlanta, the Bears could also be 2-1 with wins over two very good teams.

Anyone thinking the Bears are an easy W for the Packers is delusional.

This is going to be a hard game. I am just happy it is being played in GB.

Jones is like Sir Charles in that he relies a lot on film study. Discussing that important tackle in OT.

Jones’ recognition made his third-down tackle impressive. With no backup, any slight hesitation could’ve cost a first down and, possible, the win. At the snap, Jones immediately diagnosed the play. He remembered the Bengals’ two-tight end personnel from earlier in the game, anticipated Dalton’s dump off to Kroft was coming.

“They kind of ran that same-looking play when they were in the ‘20’ personnel in the beginning of the game,” Jones said. “I knew he was going to check release, because it was third down. That was my guy. Just play ball.”

I still don't know why Dom has to pull guys like Jones off the bench. Maybe he feels like they're not ready to play his intricate schemes. All Josh Jones did is come off the bench and lead the team in tackles, had two sacks, and three tackles for a loss.

I think he's uncomfortable with playing rookies unless he has to and I think he likes to give veterans the benefit of the doubt. I don't see that as a bad thing necessarily, you're always going to get mistakes like we saw yesterday from rookies. It's hard to tell which rookies can/should be thrown into the fire and which ones need some time to adjust. You have to play your best 11 though, I think we saw last week Kevin King showed he's already one of the 2 best CBs on the roster and he played almost the entire game against Cincy. I'm sure Jones will see a lot of time against Chicago as he definitely earned more PT. He looked like the LB we need honestly, I'd like to see him paired with Martinez in the middle more often (who had a nice game against the run).

BTW, after years of X4 complaining about MM and Dom's halftime adjustment problems, how great were those adjustments. Scored 17 in the second half and only allowed 3 points. 5 sacks allowed in the first half only 2 in the second (with backups at both Tackle spots).

These types of wins pay off at the end of the year. Fight through problems and adversity, next man up, young guys getting to play... while I could lay out all the issues they had yesterday, I think this win helps lay a cornerstone for the end of the year. It toughens a team up and forges an identity, something this team never seems to have until at least mid-season.

Positives: Josh Jones!, Geronimo! Jordy! Kendricks!, Brooks, Martinez, ARod! Clark! D.Adams!, our second half Defensive effort!, and Vogel- He had one bad punt but the rest were pretty good.

Negatives: Bennett, again?, First half offense, Lambeau playing temperature, blocking for Montgomery's running game, 7 starters out, Bengals coaches trying to ice Mason Crosby in OT with the game on the line, Not drafting Joe Mixon or Lawson when we had the chance.

Who was Rodgers talking to when he said that? Bennett? MM?

Can't cut Martellus. While he isn't giving much in the passing game, we need his blocking especially with both tackles out.

cmoun folks, Marty B will be all right, r-e-l-a-x.  let's get a larger sample size first.  six weeks from now if we're seeing the same results, ok.

I agree that 3 weeks is too little sample size to determine that Bennet will not be "all right" for the entire season. He is huge and I think he can become a weapon catching the ball in a crowd, especially in the red zone. He also has to be a better blocker than what we've seen out of Richard Rodgers the past few seasons.

I do not agree that it is too soon to declare that Bennett lacks speed and can't shake a tackle and thus will not be the downfield threat that Jared Cook was at the end of last season.

And, if Bennett continues to drop balls at the same pace, it may be time for Lance Kendricks to get more playing time. Kendricks may not be great, but he is not a liability out there either. Sadly, Bennett has been thus far.

When I think about Josh Jones playing behind a healthy Daniels and Clark it moves a little.

Clay didn't look well yesterday. Maybe the groin again. He looked a step slow.

Getting back to Josh Jones. Haven't seen that kind of speed or disruption out of that position in 15 years? Longer?

As good as King looks. And as badly as GB needed a corner like King. Jones may end up being the more important addition to the defense.

I think Bengals bench/player.

Agreed on Marty B. Cook started slow last year. Takes time to get used to an AR toss.

#firecapers if it does't work.

i wonder if it was Davante. That was the delay of game penalty and Romo was saying it was because Rodgers had to wait for Adams to move into position. could be Adams wasntn paying attention. He did not have a great game yesterday.

JJ did jump out a lot yesterday but let's see how he adapts to a little more attention being paid to him by the other O.  If nothing else, it will pull resources away from other matchups that our D can hopefully exploit.

King had problems with quick inside moves, like he did in PS and in CFB.  He may improve with that aspect of his game, he may not.  One interesting thing that I thought I saw yesterday and vs. ATL was QBs have had to adjust to King's length and the result has often been overthrows, trying to lead his receiver and keep it out of Kings' reach at the same time.  It's the type of dividend simply having him on the field can have.

Positives:

The Packers won and showed some real fight and grit in the second half especially if you think about how many players they were missing.

#12 just finds a way to get things done.  Has there ever been a QB who can always catch another team with 12 players on the field.  Of all the things he has to do on each play think about it.  He has to call the play, make sure everyone is where they are supposed to be, watch the play clock, and then he STILL with all that going on catches the other team with too many players.

Living in Bengals country coming in to work this morning wasn't all that bad

Negatives:

Having to wonder on each play if Dom's D can get the job done.

With Jones, it sounded like a lot of the competition for snaps was between he, Brice and Evans, with Brice earning more snaps. With Brice out for the game, Jones had more chances to show what he can do.

Good win without arguably 5 of our top 10 players.

We are so spoiled by the play of Rodgers. Most teams in our injury situation would have been buried with the type of O-line play we saw yesterday. Our back-up tackles were a cluster****. Rodgers while running for his life and with his head on a swivel, throws for 300+ and 3 TDs. Guy is unreal. Please let Bahk be healthy soon !!

Exciting play by Jones, hopefully sign of things to come with he and King. Can't wait to see the defense play together when healthy-is that just a pipe dream ??

Where has Ha Ha been ? Has had zero impact in 3 games except for hanging back in the weeds.

Jones has the potential to be the Charles Woodson, Carnell Lake, Rod Woodson type that Capers has when his defenses really work well.

All defenses work better with guys that just have a knack for making instinctive plays, but Capers might be as good as anyone at utilizing these types of guys. We have a small sample size so far, but Jones made more plays yesterday than a lot of the other recent draft picks in the back 7 of the defense make in a year.

The D has allowed only 17 ppg through 3 games. Small sample size, but that's a strong number. I don't care what offenses do between endzones, they could pile up 1000 total yards, if the D allows under 20 ppg then Aaron Rodgers will have a chance to win.

Forced turnovers are not good.... Packers dead last in the league with only one. Often tend to come in bunches and Thursday would be a good time to start.

The one (Daniels forced fumble in the opener) was a game changer though.

Turnover plays are huge, but I think someone had developed a stat I saw a few years ago about defensive stops. There are different types of turnovers ranging impactful (like a Pick-6s) to relatively benign (like an interception 40 yards downfield on 3rd and long or an interception on a hail mary at the end of the first half). Charles Woodson excelled at the impactful ones while Darren Sharper excelled at the latter.

Josh Jones stop on 3rd down in OT to force a punt was virtually the same as a turnover.

This was also awesome:  Aaron Rodgers threw another of his no-look, Magic Johnson-type touchdown passes in the red zone. On a third-and-goal from the 1 in the third quarter, Rodgers scrambled to his right and looked like he might try to run the ball in. Rodgers appeared to be looking straight ahead as he scrambled, so Bengals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick came off Jordy Nelson in the middle of the end zone to play the run. Then without appearing to look at Nelson, the quarterback threw across his body to the wide-open receiver in the middle of the end zone for the gimme score. Kirkpatrick didn’t have a chance.
