Bowles and Koetter might make a good coordinator tandem. Scoring was not Tampa's problem even with the unholy union of Stewbeard and Jameis and Bowles was working with drek on defense and did well with modest talent in Arizona.

When you get down to it, if winning the big one is the goal,  most coaches fail.

Most guys at this level are good coaches.  Most will be fired.    It's a crap shoot.

Back in the day I thought Dan Devine was the answer, Forrest Gregg anyone?

Good luck to Gutie and the Irishman.

To be fair to Gase, he had just coached Cutler 1.5 years earlier to a respectable (for Cutler) 92 rating with the Bears. I think he thought Jay would hand the ball off and complete easy passes, little did he know Jay was less motivated than normal to do anything.

Mike Mayock is apparently the new GM in Oakland/Vegas??

Well, Wikipedia already says it’s so, so it must be right!  🤣

Chuckie got his yes-man and the Raiders will be screwed for another decade.

They can always re-hire Lewis.  He has been there so long they probably named a building after him.  I always thought of him as an institution with the Bengals.  Lewis being fired kind of upsets the balance of the universe.

MM is too nice for NY. Yes, he'd get to work with Darnold, but the NY press and expectations would be onerous. But, if MM hires an innovative OC and stops running the offense himself so he can concentrate on Darnold and the team as a whole, I think he would be very successful. It's something he should have done a long time ago in GB.

Can't wait to see him deal with the New York media.

Yup, one brain fart wasted time out in a game he could have won and his stupid face would be plastered all over the tabloids.  Gotta be tough for that, Mike is football player tough but who knows if he can take that.  Not many can.

McCarthy has the option to sit out a year and collect 8 million.

Based on the reports I read on his discussions with the Cardinals, I'll bet he takes that. Then, after a year away from the game and so many teams salivating over the 2020 QB draft class, he can write a great ticket.

“How did everything go to shit so fast the last few years Mike?”

“What is you’re plan for (insert QB name) when you couldn’t  get Aaron Rodgers to the playoffs?”

”Can you give us an idea of who you’re going to hire for your staff”

Id give anything to sit in on an MM interview to see how he handles some of the hardball questions.
