My first Bucks game was as a Cub Scout in like 75 or 76. And I remember those guys coming out and I could not believe how big of a man he was.

I have some of the same memories. I remember watching a game at the Mecca as about a 12 year old and while all the guys were big, Lanier just seemed larger than all of them (even guys that were taller). He was just an immense presence.

I'm a St. Bonaventure grad and Bob Lanier will always be remembered for putting Bonnies' basketball - and school - on the map. We had Franciscan Friars living on the men's floors of the dorm I lived in, and one of them had a pair of Bob's size 22 Converse high tops on his shelf...pretty amazing. By all accounts, as great as he was on the court, he was an even better man.  RIP, Bob.
