Ask Tauscher about that shit.

Tauscher was really fucking hot about the "sack" because all they heard all week long was Strahan this & that. That Packer O-Line took that game fucking seriously and they kicked the Giants asses

Gastineau has a fried pie for a brain.
Go cry to Brigitte, bitch boy.
Nobody cares about you or your sack record.

Everybody else, including Favre, handled that well.
I hope security showed him the door.

How long has Gastineau been holding that grudge? Besides, that is not much of a grudge. You want to see a grudge? Look at this! Now that's a grudge!usatsi_10348345

What's weird is that TJ Watt had 22.5 sacks in 2021 to share the record with Strahan. So Gastineau wouldn't be the record holder now anyways. Even dumber - Reggie White had 21.0 sacks in 12 games in the strike shorten year of 1987, which is way more impressive than 21.5 sacks in 16 games.

I echo your sentiment ilcuqui - I just feel sorry for Gastineau that he still cares. I've gathered most players with legit records aren't rooting for them to be broken but they also accept it being broken with grace. Gastineau has an unhealthy attachment to his record.

As we go from 14 to 16 to 17 and eventually 18 games, I feel like records should probably be on a "per game" basis rather than a yearly total.  Yeah I know, that'll never take hold, but Reggie with 1.75 sacks per game in '87 is almost incomprehensible.

And just to rant - it's so stupid we still have one record book for season stat records. They're playing 17 games now, they used to play 16 games and before that 14. Soon they'll be playing 18. Eventually someone will break Eric Dickerson's 2,108 yard single season rushing record when we move to 18 games. But it's insane to drop him to #2 knowing he did it in fewer games. Why not use the NBA standard and look at yards per game? Or just have multiple records based on games per season?

The discussion now that drives me crazy is Ashton Jeanty breaking Barry Sanders record. Even ignoring strength of schedule and conference, Sanders ran for 2,628 yard in 11 games plus 222 yards in the Holiday Bowl (bowl game stats didn't count in 1988). So his season stats under current rules were 2,850 yards and 237.5 ypg. Jeanty has 2,497 in 13 games so will likely end up with around 2,700 in 14 games, or around 190 per game. Just a dumb argument to put Jeanty's season against Sanders'. Yes he technically "broke" the record but the rules changes and he played more games. Why can't we just add Sanders' Holiday Bowl stats and set the record at 2,850? Why not look at yards per game and say Sanders' 237.5 was more than Jeanty's 190ish per game? Just a dumb discussion.

Ummm, I believe Saquon is already on pace to break it in 17 games. Might not need to wait for 18 games.
