So far the Brewers are undefeated in spring training games. (2-0-1 Tied with Dodgers.) Yelich looks like he has found his old swing and even Huria is hitting the ball well. The front line pitchers look sharp too. I foresee another Central Division title and a playoff appearance.

Yeli and Hiura are looking good so far. Granted itβs just 2 games in to Spring Training, but good start. Stearns kept most of the family together from last year. Hunter Renfroe looks like he may be able to fill Garciaβs big shoes. If everyone continues to play like they did last year and Yelich and Hiura hit like we know they can, weβll be in great shape.
I think Hiura looked good last Spring as well.
If both of them can just get back to βnormalβ this team will be pretty damn good
Pitching sounds like it is in shape. Hader 3 batters, 3 Ks last night. Houser 5 Ks.
Adames with a HR.
After 3 losses, a tie and an off day the Brewers got back on the winning track, 5-2 over the Giants. Burnes pitched 5 innings, gave up 1 run, 1 hit, 1 base on balls and 8 Ks. Adames and Tellez both hit 2 run homers. Crew had 9 total hits, 5 walks but 11 strike outs.
Practice man.
We talkin' 'bout practice.
If Huira and Yelly get it going...look out N.L.
My guess is the wind was blowing out
Happens a lot in AZ this time of year
Still, encouraging to see those two heating up
I'll tell you how out of touch I am with MLB. I got a notification on my phone that the Brewers were playing the Guardians. I'm wondering who the fuck are the Guardians?
Growing up, I listened to probably 75% of Brewer games on the radio. One of the favorite things about growing up in Central Wisconsin was listening to Bob Uecker call a Brewers game. It's as quintessential Wisconsin as cheese, beer, and brats.
But I'm also somewhat out of touch with it as well now. Other than McCutcheon I couldn't tell you who the new additions were for this year. I don't know who is on the horizon in the farm system. The game is much less exciting to watch or listen to now. It's basically just an endless stream of strikeouts and ground ball outs hit into shifts punctuated periodically by a home run. Coupled with the endless pitching changes and the loss of movement on the bases, there is almost no excitement to the game. At some point, they might as well just have a home run derby with how the game is played.
Nothing illustrates the changes more than the two guys the Brewers just gave 6 million contacts to in arbitration and are trying to decide whether to sign to extensions that will run well into 8 figures per year. Brandon Woodruff has won a total of 28 games in 4 years (5, if you include 2020). Corbin Burnes has won a total of 21 games in 3 full years plus 2020. Burnes has pitched a total of 313 innings in his career and Woodruff has 460. In the year Mike Caldwell was the Cy Young runner-up, he threw 293 innings and then followed that up with another 235 innings the following year. Just in 1978-79, Caldwell threw 39 complete games. Burnes and Woodruff have combined for 1 complete game in 119 career starts.

Jesus Christ, reserve catcher Pedro Severino was suspended for 80 days for using an illegal drug. He has accepted the penalty and will not appeal.

After a good start the Crew finished 7-9 in the Cactus League. Houser, Hader, and Burnes pitched well. And when it comes to offense McCutchen, Huria, Wong and Taylor had an outstanding spring. Bring on the regular season and hope all the guys get going.
