Aaron Ashby just got moved to the Nashville pen… and I think that’s why they were willing to move on Feyerheisen. The plan was to make room for Ashby. If he does like Woody, Hader, and Burnes have, will be pretty nice having a 6th/7th inning guy in the mix who misses bats. Dude walks too many guys, though… he’ll need to clean that up some.

First time I heard the term β€œJune swoon”  was around 1972. I decided I needed an NL team and I chose the Giants because for some reason I liked Chris Spier. I guess the Giants in those days had that problem as thats where I first heard it.

Didn’t think the term was used anymore, so thanks for the memory.

Ashby fails to make it out of the first. He gives up 7 runs, 4 earned, with 3 walks and 4 hits. One of the walks was to the opposing pitcher. It would have looked a lot better without the Adames error.

You feel bad for the kid. He's 23 years old and this was the highlight of his life to this point. I always wonder if maybe allowing a guy to debut in a lower leverage situation is a better idea. Maybe in a game where you are behind by 5 runs, you allow him to get his feet wet by going out there for an inning?
