I think it has less to do with the money Hader will earn but more about the fact that Yelich will be due a big payday very soon. 

For a small market team it means the Brewers need to assemble as much affordable talent as they can around the MVP.  They really can’t go out and buy that talent, but they could acquire via trade.

It’s very possible they could fill a couple of starting roster positions (and maybe a prospect or two) for what they could get in dealing Hader.   Put it another way - if you could get a good (cheap) starting pitcher and a good (cheap) starting infielder plus a high level prospect would you not consider it?   Losing Moose and Grandal changes their team a lot and Braun isn’t getting any younger.   

Tampa Bay is stocked with good starting pitching.  Snell and Glasnow and Chirinos in particular are very good.
