When I said the hell with it last night after the Brewers batted in the 8th and hit the sack I was thinking about  how to address the series.  Imagine my surprise when I woke up this morning, checked the scores and to find a Brewer win.   Coupled with Philly and Padres losses  and the Crew crept a game closer in the wild card.

I now agree with M P that the most likely route to the playoffs is as a wild card.  Sure they have 4 games yet with Cards and the Cards have to play Padres and Dodgers away from St. Louis yet, taking the Central is all but gone.  And the Brewers still play the Mets and Yanks, but the Yanks are a worse train wreck than the Brewers. The rest of the Cards games are Nats, Reds and Pirates.

With Peterson returning and hitting well, Taylor had a great game last night, Renfroe and Tellez getting key hits they can score some runs.  Get Burnes and Boxburger straighten out and they can still make the playoffs.

Another loss today,  5-1. Refroe hits a homer with 2 out in the 9th to avoid the shutout.  Brewers hit several balls to the warning track but they were just long outs.  Rock commented on how the ball just does not carry as well since Arizona put in the artificial turf and keep the roof closed now.   On to Colorado.  Ball carries there.

I will admit to not watching a lot of baseball, but why always the long ball? They seem to get guys on base but then swing for the home run.
