Bucks up 8 midway through the third, but letting the Hawks hang around a little.

Hawks now within 5 as Allen, DDV, and Matthews have all missed wide open shots that would have put this well into double digits. Giannis and Middleton both passed up open shots to let those guys shoot, too.
Knee to knee on Connaughton. That had to hurt!
Bucks about to let the Hawks come all the way back in this one. Hawks within 3.

Seems like the Bucks never go for the throat on teams they should be dominating.
A bunch of dumb fouls on the Bucks have also kept the Hawks in this.
Turnovers on the last possessions and it's a 2 point game.

And now another. Giannis gives up a tricking layup to throw it out to the 2 point line. Dunk the ball.
Middleton makes some bad passes. Glad he's good on 3s, though.
Technical foul on Allen. Shoved Gallinari into Portis.

I think some of it is missing Holiday. He's really good and I think even we underrate him.
But a lot of it is they really lack offense on the second unit. Last year they got a lot of it from Portis, but now he's starting for Lopez. Hill, Matthews, DDV, and Connaughton are all good rotation guys, but they are all very similar players (although Hill can handle the point). They are all guys that are good defenders that can't create offense on their own. They are all streaky 3 point shooters. Nwora is useless. His defense makes him unplayable.
I think they miss Lopez, too. He was always a force near the hoop.

And really, G. Allen is the same guy as the other 4.
They have no big guys off the bench either.
They either need Lopez back so they can slide Portis back onto the second unit. If he's not coming back they need to move Nwora and DDV for a rotation piece. They either need a big guy that can rebound (Cousins at least did that) or a guy who can score off the bench that isn't a complete defensive liability.

Yes. They are giving up a lot of second shots that didn't happen with Lopez there.
Another bad pass by Middleton!
Lead back down to 3 again. This would be another embarrassing loss. It would be the second in a row where they give up a double digit lead.

They miss Holiday. He'd be the guy setting Middleton up instead of having Middleton try to generate offense surrounded by guys that the Hawks would rather have shoot than Middleton.
Now down to 2 after another turnover.
2 point lead
Terrible. Down 1 and another turnover, and another.
Offensive foul on Middleton. Gallinari with a 3 give a Atlanta their first lead.
Giannis has been terrible the last few minutes as well. He's 13 for his last 35 from the floor.
Will the Bucks allow Atlanta to end their 10 game losing streak at home?
Why take a fadeaway like that Giannis.
Now down 3 about to be more.
Huge 3 by Portis!

Yes. Missing wide open shots and letting a team that's 18-27 blow the doors off you the last 6 minutes of the 4th.
Yet another bad pass by Middleton! Bucks down by 5 with 1:14 left.

Too little too late. The Bucks need a kick in the ass somehow. They are now the 6th seed in the East.
They have lost to the Pistons, Hornets, Hornets, Raptors, and Hawks the last two weeks. That's inexcusable with both Giannis and Middleton playing.
This game is over. Bucks haven't looked good with the ball the past 2 minutes.
It was 100-91 when Giannis missed the second of FT of two with 6 minutes left.
It's been 26-9 since.
Milwaukee 114, Atlanta 121 Final
In terms of total losses, the Bucks would be in the playin games right now in the East. They are 7-14 against these 8 teams. They should win 80% of game against these kinds of teams.
Hawks 0-2
Hornets 1-2
Raptors 0-3
Pistons 2-1
Spurs 1-1
Celtics 1-2
Hornets 1-2
Pelicans 1-1
